October 24, 201213 yr I am looking for an app that will give me atc chatter relevant to where i am flying in or out of, that play's in the background. I have found two products that seem to offer this, but would like some present user input (like performance hit, realism, etc) and any info on any other app that might be out there. The two i have found are Cielosim & RealAtc.net Thanks in advance, Rick Hobbs
October 24, 201213 yr http://vatsim.net. Probably not what youre asking for, but it's "pretty good". By far the best addon for FSX in my opinion vatsim s3
October 24, 201213 yr Go to liveatc.net and tune in live air traffic control feeds from around the US Hans Soule
October 25, 201213 yr The two i have found are Cielosim & RealAtc.net RealATC only provides the .wav files. You'll still need an "engine" to play them. Enviro! which use to power those wave files is not compatible with FSX (at least I could not get it to work). I use the files with ProATC-X. October 25, 201213 yr Author Many thanks guys. Jim, how is ProATC coming along? I am looking for an alternative to what is out there at present and is good enough to eventually get the attention of MCE. Regards, Rick Hobbs
October 25, 201213 yr Go to liveatc.net and tune in live air traffic control feeds from around the US Yeah, this is your cheapest option - it's totally free.
October 25, 201213 yr Many thanks guys. Jim, how is ProATC coming along? Many people like it, including me. I do like the background ATC that I purchased from Ralph Zimmerman at RealATC and it works well in the program. The developers continue to improve the program. October 25, 201213 yr It would be fantastic if one could develop a FSX gauge or something that would automatically stream relevant liveatc.net feeds based on geographical location, altitude...etc... Patrick Houghton
October 25, 201213 yr The default ATC program does this but not based on geo location. If you are flying an IFR flight plan, ATC will advise you to go higher or lower if you forget to set the biometric pressure. It's very basic though. I recall in one of the earlier versions of FS they berated you if you went too fast on the taxiway or you were over the 250 limit under the 10000 FL. That had some flaws in it and it became a nuisance for many. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
