Hearing background ATC chatter

Featured Replies

Just until recently, i've been hearing background ATC talking, it's not FSX atc, it sounds like real life ATC Chatter but in the game... Has FSX always had this and I just noticed it right now 0_o? It usually happens while parked and on the ground, or that's the only time I can hear it.

Is this an add-on I downloaded accidently? Any method to remove it?

No its fsx atc, just go to  your radio  panel and  change the freq you got selected

No it's not fsx atc believe me. It doesn't sound like a "robot", like FSX Atc does. It sounds exactly like you would get it from Live ATC.com. I hear this while hearing the actual FSX Atc.

Addons that does have live atc samples are - Live ATC Chatter, Radar Contact, FSPassengers and Airbus X Extended. If you don't have any of these, check the link.

Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

I do it the cheap & easy way.  I have about 10 mp3 files taken from Live ATC.net recordings.  They are available in approx 30 minute segments found under audio archives, so I take 4-5 and edit them using an mp3 audio editor into what turns out to be a 120-150 minute long file.   I remove some long gaps between chatter and get all the audio levels smoothed out before saving them into a folder.  I use Windows Media Player (repeat set to on, volume to 1/2), which I start just prior to hitting fly now and with 90 seconds of silence edited into the beginning of each file, ATC magically comes to life when the flight has been loaded.

There are clips available from all over the world and I think it adds a nice touch of realism to all my flights.  FREE is good.  Once every 2-3 months or so, I'll create a couple new ones and flush out an older file to keep a little variety going.

Maybe it's from his tinfoil hat or tooth fillings?

Odd thing, if you jump to a close in outside view with the new Aerosoft Twin Otter Extended after having just shut the engines down and listen carefully you can hear some barely audible talking going on as well - thought I was losing my mind, but I am pretty sure it's really there :P

I have a free program called enviro32 read about it here

Hi,

This looks interesting, how do you like the program?  Does it matter what ATC you use? also does it come with its own sound files? I use Proatc or Vatsim usually.

Regards,

Tim

Where's the  download link for Enviro32. Could not find it on the link you provided?

Sorry my bad its 12.95 but still well worth it IMHO for 800mb of ATC voice chatter.
