July 13, 200421 yr Finally have uploaded my revised modern panels for Carenados payware T-34. This is an unofficial FREE update that is endorsed by Carenado, but no tech support is provided. 4 packages were uploaded tonight. heres what you'll get.1. A version with a new gray panel containing a modern radio stack, new nav gauges including VOR1/VOR2 and ILS, multiple upgrades and fixes to the basic panel and cockpit, plus an updated version of my yellow and white USMC livery T-34B with matching VC. These are DXT3 textures.2. a 32 bit version of the airplane above for those with appropriate hardware to handle higher graphics depth.3. A version with a new BLACK panel with same features as the gray panel. this package will also include a totally new skin set that features a beautiful USAF T-34A in bare metal in early 60's USAF Air Training Command livery. These again are DXT3 skins with a matching VC.4. a 32 bit version of the ATC T-34 for those with faster PC's.The install is detailed, but straightforward and will easily allow you to have both original and multiple configurations of your T-34's.Enjoy!EricPS: Thanks to Claudio at Carenado who was my liason on this. July 13, 200421 yr Hi Eric,Sounds nice, but I can't find your file on the Carenado site. Am I searching the wrong site or have I overlooked something?Ulf B :-)
July 13, 200421 yr Hello Ulf,You won't find the files on the Carenado site. They are here in the Avsim library.Go to http://library.avsim.net/extsearch.phpIn the Author field put in the name... Eric JoinerClick the 'Search' button. In the drop-down menu where it shows 'Order by Name', click it and then choose 'Order by Date'. Then click the 'Change View' button.Hope that helps,Cheers,Jim
July 13, 200421 yr Thanks for pointing this out Jim...This is an UNOFFICIAL update. Carenado approved of it, but doesnt provide support for it...hence 3rd party distribution like all freeware.Eric AND
July 13, 200421 yr You're welcome guys. Thanks for the updates Eric. I will be installing and using them! :DCheers,Jim
July 13, 200421 yr Eric, thanks for these updates, they will make the Mentor much more versatile. The read-me states that when I unzip to a temporary folder there will be two folders, mentor_atc and gauges, but I have texture_atc and gauges.Should I rename the texture_atc folder to mentor_atc or doesn't it make a difference? Thanks again,Jim
July 13, 200421 yr Jim,I guess you unzipped the file t34a_black_dxt3.zip into your temp folder. You may proceed like this:Create a new folder and name it 'mentor_atc'.Move ALL the previously unzipped files from your temporary folder into the new folder 'mentor_atc'.Then follow Eric's instructions.Hope this answered your question :) Ulf B
July 13, 200421 yr Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did download the black panel. I also downloaded the gray one and got that one installed and working fine.Sounds like your suggestion will work fine for installing the black panel. Thanks again,Jim
July 14, 200421 yr Thanks again for these files Eric. The Air Force model with the black panel is exceptional. The Mentor is one of the rare models where you forget if you're in 2D or VC, there's virtually no difference between the two.Jim
