KLM MD11 landing EHAM rwy 22...

Recommended Posts

... which is only 2014m or 6608' long.

I witnessed the landing on www.flightradar24.com some days ago.

I assume that the headwind was strong enough to let them land savely.

If I remember correctly the MD11 came from the Caribbean area.

Well, that's the TNCM experience in Europe!

Have fun and Happy landings!

If the aircraft is light enough, I think that is enough runway to safely stop.

Depends on the winds, weight, serviceability, etc..

Need more data.

Best regards,

Robin.

Hi Robin,

I found in the net...

http://www.boeing.com/commercial/airports/acaps/md11_toc.pdf

and in figure 3.4 'FAR Landing Runway Length Requirements 3.4.2 Flaps 50 Degrees'.

According to the figure the landing weight should have been less than 188 tons (or 415.000 lbs) with a dry Rwy 22 at sea level (EHAM elevation -11ft).
