Vsync....?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I just have now re-installed FSX clean with Windows 8 and I decided to delve into the DX10 manual and give it a go. Wow! The level of smoothness is astounding and the water just looks fantastic!

Anyways, I was wondering how to activate vsync. I currently use Nvidia Inspector 1/2 Refresh Rate but, it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas? (btw, I have my FPS locked at 30.)

Have a look at Paul's How-to doc. There is a handy v-sync section, but basically Standard and 1/2 refresh rate in nvidia inspector for vertical sync tear control and vertical sync in Nvidia inspector, lock fps at 30 in fsx, and in the .cfg:

[Display]

UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=30

If still no luck, then DisablePreload=1 in [Main]. That one fixed all my tearing woes!

Bonne chance!

Thanks for all of the help guys! I'll try out these tweaks later once I get some time...

Thank me later. LOL

:lol:

Hey Ben let me know if the DisablePreload tweak works for you because the tearing is what turned me away from DX10 and I've not had time to go back and try again. I wasn't able to get NI vSync settings to take effect last time I tried. I think I might try going through the guide again tonight.

I hope FTX England works with DX10.
