I'm a bit confused. Are you worried about the video quality or the flying itself? Seemed that you landed it ok. The 'instant replay' is always vey bad in FSX. The flaps alway are in the wrong position, and the displays are never 'as it happened'. I wish somebody knew how to fix this. It is better just to use fraps, and record it as you fly.

Have you tried FS Recorder? It is a huge improvement over the default playback system, as it preserves aircraft configuration (flaps, gear, reverse thrust), flight control positions, and performance information (airspeed, altitude). While it won't record the details of the flight, such as glide slope and localizer activity, etc., it is especially good for recording and rendering exterior shots. With the new rendering feature in the alpha version, you can skip FRAPS and render and export videos directly to media files. You can read about all the various features on the FS Recorder web site.

But because FS Recorder cannot and does not record most of the complex animations and information in the cockpit, the best way is to use FRAPS if you want a shot of the instruments.

No not until today, it's definatly worth a ganda. Will it record the displays, I guess this is asking too much?

Unfortunately, FS Recorder only records the basic parameters of flight, and since every add-on aircraft is different, I do not think there is a way it could record everything completely and consistently. For example, in the cockpit, the displays will be powered on (not dark), and airspeed, altitude, attitude, and yoke movement will be shown, but most of the navigational information specific to the flight, including EICAS notifications and routes, will not be recorded.

You can start recording anytime during the flight. My method is to use the instant replay function of FS Recorder once you have landed and then save a segment of the approach and landing (usually 120 seconds or so). This is very useful, because you do not need to remember to start the recording. Even though not all parameters will be recorded in the recording or instant replay, you will not lose any information once you resume your flight.

The best way of course is to use FRAPS, although the results may be inconsistent, especially for those with weaker computers.

Ok thanks. Sounds good for watcing external views and seeing the flaps and gears in the right position. I liike FRAPS of course, epecially in HD as people can learn from each other this way.

Is it a light weight program, which doesn't take up much memory? Can it run in the background very easily?
