Flying Tips FSX Problem

Featured Replies

Recently I keep getting the so called “Flying Tips” in FSX during flights. It’s getting slightly annoying.

For example

Insufficient fuel: Press Ctrl+X....or..... altimeter set incorrectly Press B

This is happening on all aircraft whether it is Payware, freeware or default. This started to happen around the time I installed Opus, and I passed it off that altimeter was incorrect because of the new weather engine and it was no big deal. But even when reset I would still get this message

The fuel issue also has me completely confused. I know for fact I have enough fuel yet this appears every ten minutes or so.I don’t believe this is an Opus problem it’s probably a coincidence that’s why I have not posted this in the Opus section.

Any advice would be great

There's an FSX option in Settings->Realism, top right, to turn off the flying tips. Just unchecked the "Display Flying Tips" box.

Thanks Hook

Yeah I noticed I could turn them off alright, but was wondering if there was an underlying problem.I shouldn’t have been receiving them at all.

At least it’s not a CTD and I can just switch it off as you say

Thanks for your help
