So this does not get buried in the "other" thread, I have posted this as a new thread header. One of the contentions of the MAAM-SIM group is that RCS used bitmaps from the BETA of Briefing Time that was shown at MAAM during World War II Weekend last year. A BETA that was in possession of all parties, and which was done with Bill Rambow's bit maps.AVSIM, in the person of our Tech Guru, Matt Johnson, has compared some of the images from the BETA with those of RCS' B-25. We'll let the results (pretty much) speak for themselves. This page has large images on it. Be patient. If you end up with "x's" in some image areas, reload to get them all to display. We present this analysis for your consideration. Here's the link:www.avsim.com/pages/0503/maam/avsim_ana.shtml

The link is how MAAM should have shown their evidence with the addition of brief background on the agreament between them and Roy Chaffin so we know why it's an infringment. Instead they choose to inflame the situation. This was wrong and makes it hard to believe an agreement existed! However both sides have committed wrong doing if Roy Chaffin did in fact break the agreement. It would be a great loss to the flight sim community if either folded as a result of this dispute. Courts and lawyer's are a waste of resources and will further cause damage. MAAM-sim should allow RCS to distribute their B-25 in exchange those that download it will donate a min. of $5 to MAAM. RCS panels should be made to produce a Lancaster, B-17 or other such WWII era aircraft for the community :)Without admitting anything RCS should also appologize as should MAAM. RCS shall take out the part about the real team from their manual etcetra. MAAM take down their press release. Nobody mentions this sad chapter of flight sim history again! Than Avsim can write a great review and give due credit towards RCS panels for creating the best freeware add-on. MAAM can continue to create the best pay-ware money can buy! Hopefully RCS will continue to produce awsome WWII freeware.Instead of everyone taking sides let's figure out a non agruement solution that everyone comes out a winner.Steve
