July 20, 200421 yr I've just installed Megascenery Southern California. After an uneventful installation, I started FS2004 & got themessage: scenery.cfg error. Local & remote scenery paths in area 0.46. Removeone or other. As a consequence of this, I have lost, Long Beach East scenery. The default shows in its place. Long Beach does not show in the Scenery Library. All files seem in the right directories. My scenery config says:[Area.046]Title=ProcidaLocal=SceneryProcidaLayer=46Active=TRUERequired=FALSE[Area.047]Title=megaScenery-Long Beach EastLocal=C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9megaSceneryLALongBe_eRemote=Active=TRUERequired=FALSELayer=47[Area.048]Title=megaScenery-Los Angeles EastLocal=C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9megaSceneryLALosAng_eRemote=Active=TRUERequired=FALSELayer=48etc. After installing I noticed there were two [Area 0.47]sin the cfg file, plus this appeared at the beginning:Local[Area.047]I've tried everything, reinstall, renumbering sceneries, combining Long Beach East & LA East. but nothing works.Any ideas?Peter Sydney Australia

July 20, 200421 yr Peter, It appears that you have some add-on scenery at 46 which is competing with default Mega scenery SantaA_e which is also at #46. Find out what "Procida" is and remove. You should have the following in properly installed SoCal Mega: ...Program FilesFS9MegaSceneryLA with nine (9) sub-folders (each with sub-folders for scenery and texture) as follows; LongBe_e; LosAng_e; SanBer_e; SanBer_w; SanCle_e; SanDie_e; SanDie_w; SantA_e; SantaA_w. In the scenery.cfg they are listed (in mine) as 39 for LongBe_e and ending with 47 for SantaA_w.I live in San Diego so I can tell you that this scenery is much more accurate than default. Just flew today from Chino to the East over the mountains to Big Bear Lake. The mountains are the most realistic.
July 21, 200421 yr Author Thanks Cliff & Manny. It is cured. Theauto-install was setting up 10 areas in the cfg, (with 3 SantaA areas). So I did a partial reinstall so now I've got 10cfg areas & 10 folders. It's superb! I've criss-crossed that great LA area many timesin commercial big jets. It's spectacular and wonderful!I descend the length of greater LA to touchdown in in my sim 747. I've sim flown that area since 1996. What a great leap forward!Would be great to get areas like greater El Paso,TX etc.Cheers,Peter Sydney Australia
