AS2012 textures and average winds

Featured Replies

Hi guys, just a real quick question:

When i import my flight plan into AS2012, it offers to intstall textures snaphots based on the weather. Over many flights, and texture resinstalls, are previous textures over written? Im wondering if my drive will eventually fill up! :)

Also, if i choose not to install the suggested textures (during flight plan import), will that affect weather depiction in FSX? I have a manully created theme installed that i really like, but im wondering that it might not be compatible with the current weather.

Ok, re average winds in the Flight Plane page. At the bottom of the plan, it gives Averages and also Wind Component. Currently, i have 242/27 next to averages (in Wind Dir and Spd colums), but 20 for Wind Component (just in Wind Spd column). Can someone please let me know the difference between these are?

Thank you for your help.

if it's just copying the snapshot, it overwrites what is currently in FSX so there is no loss in disk space. If you are CREATING a new snapshot, there will be additional disk space usage.

The average winds are the average wind direction and speed along the route loaded. The wind component is the effect of those winds on your aircraft. For example, your 20 kt wind component means that you will have a 20 kt tailwind along your route (on average).
