Starting to see more airports that have cars flying across highways in the middle of the runway. Obviously, something is wrong. What needs to be adjusted? I have all the Ultimate

Terrain sceneries ( USA, Europe, Alaska) and all the GEX sceneries. Should something be re-arranged in my library? Let me know if you've seen this and have a solution.

There are no GEX sceneries. GEX replaces all the default textures for FSX. There is no solution that I know of but lowering the number of vehicles might help.

Look for updated airport files, lovingly referred to as "AFCADs" even for FSX.

 

Having worked many hundreds of airport files, I can attest that the error ratio to real life runs over 50%. Either wrong location or wrong elevation, a majority have a problem of some sorts.

 

 

I will also mention that some add-on scenery, large scale projects need to code a few roads as tunnels, so that traffic does not drive across the airport. Those instances should be brought up with the scenery developer so that they can implement a fix.

Yes, I know, Jim. Thought GEX was playing some role in the airport textures in some way. I think looking for new AFCADs might be the solution.

You were right....just did a test on Cherry Capital airport in Traverse City, Michigan. Before the new AFCAD I found for this airport, there was a major highway running across the runway.

Installed the new AFCAD I found in Avism Library, and the airport looks great. Highway GONE!
