I think i,m pulling the trigger on a new yoke. Just wanted to see if anyone knew the difference between the PFC Saab Desktop yoke and the PFC 737 yoke. The 737 yoke is $300 more Is it worth the extra cash? I fly the NGX the most and will also fly the PMDG 777 when it comes out. Also should I get the Hall effect model or just the plain one? Its only $150 more and looks like from what I read its the way to go.Thanks for any advice and I have read Kostas review on the saab yoke which was very helpful.

Tom, on my blog, now I also added a review of the PFC Throttle Console with 737NG quadrant, if interested.

Definitely hall effect sensors.

Saab vs 737 is the same mechanism, other yoke. Simply differently moulded, buttons all real like the real 737 yoke. According to PFC more expensive to produce.

Tom, have fun, that's really nice to know!

IMHO if you're looking for a 737 go for a realistic rendition.

ACE yokes look good but they have crap afterservice support.

I'll be planning to get a realistic looking 737 yoke soon, and when that time comes i'll be parting with my PFC yoke (with hall sensors) which is also very good but has served its purpose.

Ah OK.

There was another one, uber-expensive, also coming as force feedback yoke, standing, not the table version... cost somewhere around 2500€...

Dinshaw, exactly, that's the one! Have my eye on something like that when I really have the money for such things ;-)

Hahaha...Same here :) Hopefully I can bite the bullet next summer :)

Tom I would recommend you get the floor mounted column yoke and not the desktop version. Ive owned both the floor and the desktop Saab, and the floor version is much smoother in elevator, plus you can just pick the whole thing up and move it outta the way if needed.
