HELP ! Windows 8 FSX problem

Featured Replies

Hi All,

If this isn't the correct forum for my question please direct me to one that might be better.

I recently installed Windows 8 64 bit OEM.

I finally got FSX to install. After the install I ran it and it worked fine. I then installed SP1 ran it and it worked fine.

I then installed SP2 and it loaded but wouldn't respond after loading.

Any ideas? Perhaps SP2 could have been corrupted??

I'm at a loss as to why it won't work with SP2.

I also tried Acceleration after SP1 and got the same results as SP2.

Any help would be appreciated.

You don't install Acceleration after SP1, its an Either/or situation...

Either you install SP1/SP2 OR you install Acceleration, not both. One thing worth doing is disable the UAC too, and obviously your installing this lot as an admin account?

Why not update your signature too, throw that lot into your profile so the threads are more readable :P

Thanks for the response. I know it's either SP2 or Acceleration. What I'm saying is that I tried SP2 and FSX wouldn't launch. It would hang at the welcome screen. Same with Acceleration.

FSX will only launch with SP1. Without SP2 there are certain add ons that won't work. ie LD767.

UAC is disabled and I am the admin. Installed SP2 as Admin.
