November 20, 201213 yr Hey all, I would like to set up the -400F on a few touch screens. As of right now, I have five screens in mind. The screens will show the following: (1) Captains side, (2) EICAS, (3) F.O's side, (4) Overhead Panel, and (5)throttle quadrant. A sixth panel may be added for Comms and ACARs. I have a few questions in regards to what I've explained: 1. Has any one ever attempted this? 2. Does the software support touch screen? 3. Which product (touch screen) worked best with PMDG's products? 4. Did you encouter any issues with PMDG's operations on touch screens? If so, what was the solution? 4. Should the responses to the above questions be positive, how does one divide each panel up between screens? Thanks.
November 20, 201213 yr Wow, 5 monitors for panels. I used a six panel setup back in the day with it. 3 x 24 in for Main screens 2 x 10.4 touch screens for Captain/Engines/EICAS button 1 x CDU VGA IMO.. few points are: -5 Touch screens are overkill. -It doesn't support touchscreens natively, but for most points it will work as long as your touch screen has some decent software. -The amount of FPS hits you are going to take will be crazy as each panel undocked will kill FPS. You will probably be looking at a slideshow. Below is my setup from the past and I barely got out of the teens
November 21, 201213 yr Author Ohsirus - Thanks for the info! Very nice set up. I'll continue looking into the touch screens. Although it seems like overkill, I think it should provide positive training for crewmembers on the -400F.
