With more than nine-teen thousand operations and more than forty million people yearly it is no surprise that Phoenix Sky Harbor is the ninth busiest airport in the US and twenty third busiest in the world. Harsh monsoons can plague Phoenix from July to September and raging sand storms bring all air traffic to an abrupt and grinding halt. With these hazardous weather conditions and the amount of traffic that Phoenix receives daily it is not surprising that Phoenix gets overloaded. The Phoenix Tracon and Local control are ready for the onslaught of traffic. So...are you up to the task of overloading? Join the Albuquerque ARTCC December 1st from 7EST-11EST (2359Z-0400Z) to see if you have what is takes to overload Phoenix.
