Robert Aitchison ROB13 Returned to my PMDG MD 11 after 3 years. I attempted to clear my problem of the Panel Gauges being Black ; But when Clicking on the W Key All 5 gauges appear for perfect viewing. I was working with PMDG Support (unloading & Downloading beyond reason) they thought it was an "Initialization" condition. I was attempting to install the FS2Crew PMDG MD 11 Edition. It was never resolved - Support never got Back to me and I went in other directions. At Chase Kreznor suggestion I am Posting For Help. All my House liverys MD 11 & 11F GE/PW Panel Gauges are Black (Including Virtual) When clicking the "W" key all 5 Gauges appear for perfect Viewing. I also noticed I have NO! Wing lights When clicking the "W" key I receive a Question Mark on the Screen,, and operating the Overhead Toggle Light Keys -No Lights.. I did Fly with the 5 Basic Gauges and everything appeared normal. I have tried ALT+ENTER,ALT+TAB,Enter KEY, FLIGHT RESET to no avail. I would like to get back to MD 11 Flying - Hope someone can Help ? I have exhausted AVSIM Searchs For this Topic

Please correct The "W" for lights TO "L" forLights ROB13

Randy Hi Rob 13 Here I guess I should have recorded my Exploits the last 2 Days . I attempted To search AvSim For 4 Hours Only to be told this is an AGED OVER 180 DAYS TOPIC - More or Less "GIVE UP". I then went to PMDG to REGISTER for a Ticket And was told Some one already has the E Mail Address - YES THATS ME For 2 More hours. The Address You gave is not Available Due to server error #40023. I tried it 3 times. Thanks for the suggestion. I gave all this info to the Forum Director Chase Kreznor He was the one that told me to POST . I am beginning to think I should put the MD 11 in the Hangar AND FORGET IT Again Thanks For your Reply

Randy ROB13 HERE SUCCESS! . I tried your PMDG Address a couple of more times and finally got thru. And yes They do have me and my password from 3 years back. and sent me a confirming E-Mail with my user & password. Again Thanks. I will attempt to continue my Black Gauges TravelLog. .I am grateful for your help. Maybe I"ll get it fixed this time - its a good aircraft.Keep that PMDG Address it is different from the one I was Useing and it worked...

Randy ROB 13 Here - Spoke to soon - Again "ANOTHER PERSON HAS THE E-MAIL ADDRESS. I am at a loss of how to contact PMDG SUPPORT. to speak with some one besides their poorly PROGRAMED REGESTRY.

Use another email address and let them know maybe the can reset it.

I am afraid that in all the years I have used this particular aircraft I have not had this particular problem. But then again its the only one I fly in FSX. That is not to say that on occassions I have had problems (usually nothing to do with PMDG as such) and the only solution to a particular issue has sometimes been a complete un-install and re-install. If you can get through to the support (I know more frustration for you in this instance) I have always found them to be human and nice, helpful people. Now, one of the problems I did have was with FS2 Crew and for whatever reason the install of the FS2 Crew had not gone right. I could not get any panels to work and unfortunately the only solution was a complete re-install of both PMDG and FS2 Crew. Regards Stuart

Stuart Hi! ROB13 Here. Thanks for the Clue on FS2 Crew. I will avoid FS2 - I understand a MULTI CREW Program is Available Also from PMDG. I have sent MSGS to PMDG HOME page to further chase SUPPORT. I have 3 Livery Add-Ons that I have from PMDG that I had trouble Downloading.. I have removed them from the MD-11. Did not change the Black Gauges.If all else fails I will Re-install again-and again - as I did previosly. Thanx again for your Reply

Hi Rob

 

Make sure you are using the most recent version of the FS2Crew Start Panel app and the latest version of FS2Crew.

 

Note that when you install FS2Crew and follow the instructions, you will press two buttons on the Start Panel app that will modify your key bindings and panels. You should double check if "w" or "L" were mapped to something unexpected in the FSX keyboard settings and/or the PMDG keyboard settings.

 

When you press "w" or "L" and the gauges begin to work, can you tell what function that key was mapped to? That could be a clue.

 

Also, since Lighting is involved, get the most recent version of your video card drivers in case there is a problem with them.

 

I run FSX, MD11 Freighter, and the most recent version of FS2Crew with no problems so there is hope.
