July 27, 200421 yr Uwe, Thanks for your detailed responses to this thread.I'm a huge fan of the RXP530, but despite what everyone says I get significant framerate hits when running it (and I am running the latest stuff). So, what I'm looking for is a way to run some kind of 530 emulator on a 2nd, dedicated PC.The thing I'm a little fuzzy on is how the FSGarmin will work with certain aircraft - for instance, the Eaglesoft Citation X. That airplane "knows" about the RXP530 as a navigation source for the PFD and autopilot. The question is, will FSGarmin work with aftermarket products like that?I could of course try it for myself but that would involve a couple hours of work and I'd prefer to rely on other people's expertise 8^) .cheers,Dave Blevinshttp://www.flightfactory-simulations.com/h...ster_banner.jpg System: Asus P8Z68 Deluxe/Gen3 mobo *** i7 2700K @ 5gHz w/ Corsair H80 cooler NVidia GTX 570 OC *** 8 GB 1600 Corsair Vengeance DRAM *** CoolerMaster HAF X case System overclocked and tuned for FSX by fs-gs.com Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog stick/throttle & CH Products Pro Pedals Various GoFlight panels *** PFC avionics stack
July 27, 200421 yr Well thanks to your time and full featured explanation I was able to get it installed and running. How in the world do they expect people to use the Garmin without any type of installation manual? How strange for such a powerful add-on.It's really nice to lock my FPS at 30 and turn on the GPS and Still see my FPS at 30!But of course one more question. I see I will have to do training on it but I am hoping I can at least use it like the default FS Garmin. But what I see is my airplane on a nice "black" outline of the USA. No detail - no nuttin'. Do I have to load data, maps, etc, for each flight in order to see airports, ILS's and the like? thx.
July 27, 200421 yr Well right after that long speach of seeing nuttin' I just pushed a button by accident and low-and-behold I am seeing "stuff"... i.e. good stuff - airports, lakes, compass rose.Yes, time to start readin' the manual. Thanks again Uwe.pony
July 27, 200421 yr Hi Dave, the approach of the FSGarmin530 to autopilot coupling is quite ingenious actually - it exports its flightplan to the default GPS, from where the autopilot gets fed. Every aircraft that
