Machine_Check_Exception

Featured Replies

Hello, I built my system back in Feb of this year and it has been working fine until Sat nite when it froze up and bsod on me. Reset it, and everytime I get to windows is starting it throws the bsod again with MAchine_Check_Exception. I even tried to boot off the windows disk and it bsod at the same point. The system boots up fine, I can get into the bios, but it will not boot into windows at all.

My hardware-

1 x ASUS ENGTX560 DCII OC/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support

1 x ASRock Z68 PROFESSIONAL GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

1 x Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics ...

1 x CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B

My power supply is a Corsair ToughPower 850w

Tried a different video card that I know works, still the same error.

I figure its the cpu or motherboard, Im just tryin to figure out which one...

Any Ideas?

Reset to bios default and see if it boots to Windows.

Regards

I even tried to boot up Bart PE and it blue screens with it too. Also took out all my ram but one stick and tried that and still got the same error. Tried a different stick also and got the same error. Frustrating, I just want to get it figured out so I can get it up and running again....

Usually Machine Check Exception would be bad CPU/incorrect settings. You can try playing with voltages or maybe underclocking to test.

I was figuring it was probably the cpu. Glad it has a 3 year warranty...guess I will have to see about doing a rma....

Actually my power supply is ThermalTake Toughpower, I dunno why I was thinkin it was Corsair.

Got my Rma number from intel today, got it shipped off, hopefully I will hear something soon.
