November 29, 201213 yr Good Morning, I am enjoying the j41 very much and after a full reinstall, finally have the unfeather pumps working well. I still seem to have an issue with the altimeter though. I can press "B" once and it sets but soon after loading up and getting started the "b" button no longer works to change the altimeter. I had to manually set it throughout the flight and I'm not even sure it was correct as on approach last night I was under the glidescope the whole way... Any thoughts about the altimeter workings? I'm running Active Sky 2012 and FSpassengersX but no other add-on utilities. Thanks, Joe
November 29, 201213 yr I'm just guessing here, but could FS Pax be adding some realism and forcing you to set the Altimeter manually? I normally check the local METAR in Active Sky, and set my Altimeter from there. Should match! Regarding the glideslope reading. Is my understanding correct that the autopilot flew the approach and you were under the glideslope the whole time? If the altimeter setting is wrong, you could be at an altitude that is higher or lower that what you see on the Altimeter. So the danger would be that you decend lower than MSA/published altitude or ATC assigned altitude. But the glideslope indicator should still show you where you are relative to it, and I would expect that the autopilot would keep you on the correct path once captured. The problem would be that if you altimeter was not calibrated correctly, you wouldn't be able to determine when you reached minimums. If you didn't decend enough, then you may not be able to get the autopilot to capture the glideslop since you're above it. I hope that made sense. Jim Shield Cybersecurity Specialist
November 29, 201213 yr This is FSPass. Its the copilot trying to help you. Fore example, if you pressed B and then 2992 it would set the barometer to 29.92. You can change what key FSPassengers uses for this or simply disable FSPassengers hotkeys. Branton Turner
