Resizing the 430 GPS

Featured Replies

When I first got the V35B I was using 1 monitor. When I clicked on the 430 to have the movable separate one, it was too small to use.

I found somethng on the internet on how to change the size at a forum( this one?)...you had to open this folder, then that folder, then...and then you had to change two numbers...and it worked!

Now I've gone to 3 monitors using the Matrox triplehead2go, and the 430 stretches across all three monitors and is very narrow.

I've looked on the internet to try and find those instructions to resize the 430, but have been unsuccessful.

Does anyone know how to resize the 430?

Thank you,

Arnie

I only have the F33 Bonanza, but I'm sure the V-tail will not be much different..

In the panel folder, open the panel.cfg file with Notepad.

Look for the GPS window, something like:

//--------------------------------------------------------

[Window01]

Background_color=0,0,0

size_mm=500,266

window_size_ratio=1.000

position=0

visible=0

ident=794

window_size= 0.300, 0.220

window_pos= 0.010, 0.455

zorder=0

gauge00=C185!Toggle_GPS, 35,69,329,246

gauge01=CarenadoG430!GNS430_nc1, 0,0,500,266

gauge02=BonF33!Toggle_GPS, 136,45,217,153

The two lines to look at are:

window_size= 0.300, 0.220

window_pos= 0.010, 0.455

Change window_size to whatever you want... it is meant as a fraction of your

overall screensize - in this case 0.3 of the total screen width and 0.22 of the total screen height.

Bert,

Wow, that was exactly it!

Thank you so much.

Excellent instructions...it went too smooth, I wish everything was that easy.

I went with .200, it was .500.

It's darn near perfect, so much more enjoyable now.

Thanks again.
