December 1, 201213 yr Hello, I know there are loads of topics like this but all the information is convoluted around many threads and there is conflicting advice and outdated ideas etc. In short I am looking for a new monitor, budget ≈ £200. I use TrackIR so a response time of at most 2ms is required. Apart from that I don't really know just how much of an improvement certain things are for example 1440p compared to 1080p. http://www.amazon.co.uk/VE278Q-Widescreen-Display-Response-Picture/dp/B0041RXPQY/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1354365684&sr=1-1 is a little over budget but seems to be rather good. Ideas? Thanks, Will Wilson
December 1, 201213 yr Hi, I'm due to upgrade my current monitor too from my current crappy Iiyama 22" 1080p LCD monitor. My budget is around 600 euros, but I'm not willing to spend more than 300 euros because I want to have money left for other FSX add-ons and hardware upgrades. I'm currently looking at this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236302 It's 27" (so very big), 1080p, only a 1 ms response time and some great reviews. It costs 310$, and that only 195 pounds (wow the pound is doing well). Some say you should buy a 1440p monitor. Well, I can't really judge on it because I've never had one. But if you don't have a top of the line video card (at least NVIDIA 660Ti), you're gonna see quite a performance drop. Some say however, that with a good videocard there's no performance loss at all, but again, I can't comment on that too much. Also remember 1440p is nearly twice the price and out of your budget. According to most people, as long as you don't sit too close to your monitor (2-3 feet), you won't notice that much of a difference between 1440p and 1080p. So my recommendation is a 27" 1080p LED <2ms TF monitor. Some say and IPS or VA panel is better, which is true, but IPS and VA just can't achieve the response time of TF panels. Arjen Vandervelde
December 2, 201213 yr I'm currently looking at this one: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16824236302 Truly fantastic display... I just bought this one a month and a half ago and I absolutely love it. Colors are SUPER vibrant, the display is blindingly bright(you can adjust), and it is very crisp despite the 1080P on 27".
