Changing aircraft categories on the aircraft select screen

Featured Replies

I would like to have category in my aircraft list of 'BAV' in the same place where you have rotor craft, single piston engine, multi piston engine, so that it would only display aircraft I can use within BAV.

How would I got about adding this category and how do I tell each aircraft to be in that category?

So I tried what you suggested and for an A318 it worked, All i did was add the 'ui_createdby="BAV"' line to the CFG which looks like this.

[fltsim.0]

title=Airbus A318-112 British Airways

sim=pa318-cfm56

model=CFM

panel=

sound=

texture=BAW

checklists=

description=Presenting the Project Airbus A318-112. Visual model by Andy Warden and Derek Mayer. Base textures by Demetris Themistocleous and Sheldon Fernandes. Flight model by Peter Binamira, Derek Mayer, and Steve Mcbee. Repaint By Carlos Eduardo Salas. Copyright Project Airbus 2008.\n\n\n\n\n\n

atc_id=G-EUNA

atc_airline=SPEEDBIRD

atc_flight_number=001

ui_type=A318

ui_variation=British Airways

ui_manufacturer=Airbus

ui_createdby="BAV"

visual_damage=1

atc_heavy=0

But for the 737 EVO it didnt, this is what the CFG entry for that livery looks like.

The A318 now resides in the 'BAV' Category under Publisher, and the evo remains under feelthere/wilco

Thank you for any help!

Thank you for replying Word Not Allowed,

I have tried what you suggest but it did not work,

As there isn't 'feelThere/Wilco' any where in the config of the model I want to move, yet it still appears under that 'publisher' drop down menu. Is it safe to assume that its reading it from somewhere else other than in the aircraft.cfg?

And would you have any idea where this may be?

Jack Cannon

Take the following example:

ui_manufacturer=BOEING
ui_type=747-400 RR
ui_typerole=B747-400
ui_createdby=PMDG

There are 3 lists in FSX aircraft selection.

The ui_typerole is the right list.

The ui_manufacturer and ui_createdby are the middle and left list (I don't remember now which is which - experiment).

Everything is sorted according to these lists, and after that, they are sorted alphabetically according to the ui_type entry.
