Billings Montana Big Scenery Issues.

Featured Replies

Just flew into KBIL or attempted too. Cant figure out what this issue is. Anyone else have this? The runway is a cliff! LOL

Shouldve rerouted but need to land (time constraints) and ended up going around after I realized there really was no runway, and landed on the taxiway.

Bizarre. I dont see any KBIL freeware scenery or anything else for that matter. Just a stop on a tour from a VA.

Do you use FTX CRM by chance?

My guess is 3rd party mesh.

Sorry, guess again.

Mesh will not override an airport flatten. That's not being shown in the pictures. What is showing is a changing of the airports elevation and conflicting airport files. Runways in FSX airport files don't have terrain clamping that aprons and taxi ways do.

Somewhere on the OP's HD are conflicting files from an add-on or an AI package. It's not normal to go and change a larger airport's elevation, IMO, but there's probably a file sitting in the \Scenery\World\scenery folder that has Billings written all over it and it's creating what's seen.

Not sure exactly what it was, but uninstalled all scenery related to anything in that whole region, and default was ok, so loaded everything back up and all seems well again. very strange. No other airports had this phenomenon.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.
