  1. I seem to recall Jorg reciting the discovery, and planning stages leading up to MSFS 2020. if they were going to go thru with it, there had to be some form of long term commitment to this massive project or else it’s a no go. I believe the promise was for 10 years? question is, is it on a contract? Can it be broken because of head personnel changes at MIcrosoft? When did the 10 years start? With all that’s invested and it being a prime foundation of a Microsoft game, with Xbox as a centrepiece and recent PlayStation addition, I am pretty sure it’s not going away anytime soon or near-midterm future. Best to be cautiously optimistic rather than worried, that another significant feature has been reworked outside of just updating the sim for bug fixing and performance optimisations. I‘m hoping for big WX changes since XP made a move and it can be rather lacking at times. A proper WX radar that 3rd parties can integrate too. Guess we will all find out something at FS weekend what the roadmap looks like.
  2. A lot of good videos out there from Classic Jet SimPilot, Moosestaffa, and Father Time to name a few. But basically take what you know about Boeing and Airbus logic (push pull) and mix it in a blender, and add a mint garnish for the dial a flap configuration. its a lot of fun. One hell of a beast of a machine with chest thumping climb rates even over FL280. Just don’t expect fuel efficiency.
  3. Thanks very much. Never would have thought to try something that says MOUSE_INP. But the honeycomb bravo throttle does have a reverse axis, so this setup ends up being very dangerous to going into reverse thrust when you just want to go to idle at the detent. Might be better to just have a toggle reverse thrust button.
  4. FSS EJets MSFS2024. I have tried all kinds of inputEvents from above, plus anything related to throttle, including LVARS that are apparently specific to FSS. (FSS_EXX_EVT_LEVER_THROTTLE_L) Sometimes there is a reaction of throttles, but the engines behave erratically going up and down or go half way. In AAO the inputs have full movement showing. Values have been changed like above, (0 to 1) and still nothing works. I havent found a template anywhere online to try. Perhaps something changed in this new experimental version.
  5. Anyone have an update for this? I have been trying all kinds of throttle bindings, and nothing seems to work properly. Sometimes , throttle moves but half way, often throttle just goes into reverse and no forward movement. There are no other bindings for throttle, in AAOs or in the simulator controls. Set to nothing. I am using Honeycomb Bravo. Setting up throttles for other planes works. Just cant get it to work for the FSS Ejets
  6. Super awesome! Can't wait to fly the Md-11 again this time in MSFS 2024. Great tribute video ending to UPS btw.
  7. So so nice to have this back. Must have utility IMHO. Gamechanger to set up views so easily without messing with config files and the like. To break free from the ridiculous 10 view limit and have fly-by and tower runway views. thank you parallel 42!
  8. All the grievances and hate aside, which I am not going to get involved in,..... The aircraft is solid. Install went without a hitch, with alot of liveries. The performance is really smooth, and first flight went without any hiccups. Nice to have somewhat of a working WX radar. Soundset also sounds a whole lot better than previous. Just have to play around more with windows spatial sound. $30 upgrade, not thrilling, but considering I got the $99 discount deal when we moved from P3D, really cant complain. They did alot of work and it shows. The team deserves commendation too. Cheers
  9. Thanks . Food for thought if my 4080S sells for good money.
  10. Respectfully disagree. Its most definitely VRAM. In dev mode with the in game FPS display, I have all solid green performance. No hiccups. Frame time is great, as is FPS. When Vram gets anywhere around 13gb out of my 16gb card, its a stutterfest every single time. Easily reproducible. Reduce addons and or settings to bring Vram back down, and its golden smooth. Seems like 2024 is for the rich who can afford the very expensive cards with gobs of Vram in comparison. Vram is very fast compared to DDR5 even, thus the extra expense. So when we have relatively powerful machines but only 'moderate' Vram (16Gb) , we can't use much addons, and we have to turn everything way down.
  11. If MsAsobo can't fix this, then they can greatly subsidize all these incredibly expensive GPUs that cost thousands with over 20gb of Vram. I have a 4080 super with 16gb and its a fantastic performing card. This issue is all Vram. Performance without Vram maxing out, is solid with great fps, frametime, and smoothness. Get close to 13gb vram and it becomes a stutter fest. Not long ago, 16gb vram was overkill. Having answers like turning stuff off, and disabling addons, seems ridiculous. Other games that are demanding dont have this issue. In fact they dont even come close to 16gb usage. This should be a priority fix. So far I don't see much talk about it in SU3.
  12. Starts fine for me, and flying it also seems mostly functional. But cant get my head around the Honeywell Primus Apex System. Its very weird, or rather I suspect that Carenado went very light onto its functionality. Also very different from a Garmin. Definitely need to use beta range for taxiing otherwise its a rocket on the taxiway. Dont use brakes. I'm sure in reality you would wear them out pretty quick with the idle power it has. Apex
  13. Whats all the fuss about wipers? Don't you all know that MSFS aircraft all come with a special technology like "Rain-x" as a water repellent feature. Thats why I can still see without actually wiping the window, while still or low speeds. 😉😆The physical wiper is just there for show.
  14. Think there should be a balanced view of IRL pilots that have more of an aim to educate simmers of all sorts, some to alot detail, where reading a bloody 3000 page FCOM would take ages, and seeing it explained visually for tips and tricks and so forth, can be very helpful. Sure there are some who dont know what constructive criticism means, and are out for the click bait show, but gotta give credit to the real ones out there who have been flying these aircraft for a long while and taking the time to show how to handle things properly in a professional manner.
  15. I stumbled across this clean looking Overlay. Very simple but has the necessary info. Without dealing with Afterburner/RTSS or the rather intrusive in game Dev FPS overlay. This one is open source from Git hub called "Clean Meter". Its rather new, in beta, and has a few bugs but overall works well. Not much documentation but found it easy to get working anyway. Once installed, when you have HWinfo running, you will have to make sure 'shared memory support' is checked in the main settings or you wont see the memory resources on the overlay. You can get it at Github. https://github.com/Danil0v3s/CleanMeter/releases/latest Screenshot below https://ibb.co/pZbPCgw
  16. I liken it to a game of golf. A Beautiful green course but your shots go wide and in the rough, in the water, +5 over par, ...." hate this game"! Then comes the 18th hole, ..... What a shot! I love this game! There is a lot to like, but encounter a whole lot of weird things. Many have all been mentioned. Then comes that wow moment. Cool. I suspect these waves of up and downs will continue for a while but gets better and better with time. The hotfix seems to have stabilized the sim better. Before I had random CTDs for an unknown reason. Once again, no error log is to be found. I am not sure why many have refunded the sim so fast, when clearly they are server issues and not the sim per say, and the sim when you have proper sufficient streaming, performs very well.
  17. Putting the launch aside, I think it will take a while to iron the sim out to where its spit and polished like 2020. Performance wise so far its been excellent. But I think we are going to run into alot of quality issues simply because of streaming. At least give us the option to download what we want to store locally. Already had messages, that the Ai traffic data server is having issues, and the other message came later saying that streaming data is also having issues and to expect degraded quality scenery and model textures. That just doesnt bode well. Sure this is still the after effects of launch day, but servers will have a bad day and other times of the year and thats what we will face. The control bindings are really messy, and not very intuitive. Bind axis and go to another aircraft and it doesnt work. Flying with these default GA's felt really nice in the air. The FM clearly much improved as is the taxiing finally. The jet aircraft had all kinds of issues, perhaps binding issues again. The trimming goes crazy. The max 8 trimwheel went nuts and sent me into a nose dive which was meant to be a slight trim. That being said, it looks beautiful when the streaming works, and there is a ton of potential. I think it will improve faster than 2020s progression and we will all forget about launch day. Look forward to it. Just expect alot of turbulence in the coming weeks and months.
  18. Hilarious. Xbox app says Ive played the game 2.9 hours and yet I cant get past the VFS activating 13% part without a CTD. Never even seen the home screen yet. Anyone else fix CTD just from loading VFS?
  19. Would’ve been a lot smarter to stagger the release by region then to deal with this circus show. As big as their resources and capacity of mega data servers and cloud computing, yet they still couldn’t get it right. Next time you have an estimate for launch day, … multiply by an additional 10. giving up and retiring for the night. Hope it’s sorted out by morning
  20. Wow that was shockingly fast. Downloaded 12gb in 6 minutes. Now launching. Can't believe no hiccups on installation
  21. Simply outstanding to have this as a freeware project. Hard to believe it’s Alpha stage when some payware doesn’t even accomplish this detail and fidelity. Many thanks!
  22. So much premature nonsense. This is just to stir up more negative side speculation. There is a ton of new planes to explore and try out when it gets released, and highly unlikely to be crappy default like before but since Working Title has a big hand in it, they will be much better avionics wise. Think it will only be a month or two before we see some payware converted to be working like it was in 2020 and a few more months to adapt to the new flight dynamics model and any other additional features. If all this is unsatisfactory to anyone, then 2020 will be a great fallback to fly in the meantime.
  23. What a night and day difference of loading times. They are quite impressive. No time to make a coffee and sandwich now. aside from a number of forgivable crashes of instability given its a tech alpha, it’s a rather interesting positive experience to see all the changes. As so many have mentioned, the flight model feels so much more plausible. Especially takeoff and landings with a crosswind. Get ready to add more input to your controls. Love the new lighting engine overall. Night lighting still needs some work but still better. Performance wise, the computer has become one big heater. No need for extra heating this winter. That said, the sim deemed I could run everything on Ultra and indeed it does, and does well …over 100FPS but the system sounds like a jet engine. Turn some unnecessary things down a notch, 1/2 refresh and in sim fps limit to 50 (Amd with gsync compatible monitor but with min 48hz) and have a solid 50fps even in heavy scenery. Haven’t done much career flights yet, but the first one, they are confusing left and right hand patterns. Reversed. Other quirky stuff but I’m sure they have been noted and will be fixed for an RC. looking forward to Nov 19th, but I’m pretty sure I will hang on to 2020 for a bit until things become more stable after release. I expect it will go a lot quicker.
