November 20, 20241 yr My first impressions of MSFS2024 As expected it installed fine but trying to get connected and start a flight was not so good. I eventually managed to get into the sim this morning after LOTS of restarts (and swearing) Once inside the sim it looks sleek and well thought out until you try to start a freeflight! I thought I was back in ARMA 3! Lots of walking around and it took me 20 minutes to discover how to enter the cockpit. Once inside the aircraft (TBM930) the view system is as expected, total s***!. I gave up trying to start a flight after 30 minutes of frustration. Final Verdict I'm sure MSFS2024 will (eventually) be one hell of a flight sim, but until MS sort themselves out and decide who they are catering for i.e. XBOX Gamers or Flight Simmers I won't be uninstalling MSFS2020 anytime soon. November 20, 20241 yr Hm, I started a Free Flight with the 172 directly from the runway in EDAR. Pushed the throttle and had a nice flight. Nothing to complain. Afterwards I landed, opened the door and walked around a bit. Super easy.
November 20, 20241 yr I think there really needs to be a 2020 forum and a seperate 2024 forum. This place is going to be insufferable for those of us who have a working 2020 sim and just want to browse without navigating 165 threads dedicated to 2024 issues. This is all going exactly as I expected. It's just mega insufferable this week it will go back to being normal insufferable soon. We won't get separate forums. Russell Gough SE London
November 20, 20241 yr Losing connection with the controls even... Bandwith, PG goes lost too. Cloud game, a messy AI generated cloud game. A bad game too if Asobo intends to hold on to this. November 20, 20241 yr Hello, You are right. In my humble opinion, there should be 2 sections, like before. Those are two different sims afer all. My gallery: http://s1075.photobucket.com/albums/w430/yankeegolf/

My opinion is that atmos still rules but vanilla to vanilla 2024 looks way better especially lighting. But it still works bad. You are entirely given up to Internet Connection and their servers. Even PG off you get melted buildings it is just horrible. The cockpit even melts everything gets blurred and controls even freeze you can not move camera. Every 10 minutes in heavy scenery bandwith notifications and internet nonsense. Not my fault!! Their server fault. I have 1gbps glass fiber. They should give us base install!!.asap Edited November 20, 20241 yr by Piotr007 I9 12900K @ 5.1ghz P-cores/ 4.0 ghz E-cores fixed HT off / Corsair iCue H150i Capellix Cooler/ MSI Z690 CARBON WiFi / 32GB Corsair DDR5 RAM @ 5200 mhz XMP on / 12GB MSI 4090 RTX Ventus 3 / 7,5 total TB SSD (2+2+2+1+0,5 all NVMe)/ PSU 850W Corsair / 27" (1080P)

They have to upgrade their IT landscape x1000. Then go to msfs24 guys. I flew a KLM A330 though in Msfs2024. Inibuilds did a great job on this base pack aircraft!!! I have to admit. November 20, 20241 yr My first impression is not good. Last night it took 5 hours to load the sim to 97%. and it wouldn't go any further. Then after a reboot I got into waiting queue for 2 hours. This morning just before I went to work I figured to try another time. This time I did not have a waiting queue so after 15 min. or so the sim was loaded. I quickly configured some stuff and tried to start a simple flight. But still the servers cannot cope since I received a bandwidth too low message (I have a 600Mbit connection) and after 5 minutes and 2 more attempt I gave up since I had to go to work. I didn't pay lots of money to get in a waiting queue everytime I want to fly, and chances are that every weekend these servers will be busy. If they can't solve this capacity issue many people will want a refund. Sofar I haven't even been able to do a single flight, haven't even made it to sit in an aircraft to see what's so great in this new sim I paid a lot of money for, just because the servers are too busy. November 20, 20241 yr meh... With the Velocity One Joystick plugged in, mouse stops working for looking around in cockpit. Unplug the Velocity One Joystick and mouse in cockpit works again. I'm yet to fly the thing because of this issue. Edited November 20, 20241 yr by bluescast i9-14900K / DDR6 / 4090 / 64 GB RAM
