July 10, 2025Jul 10 Hi everyone! I'm happy to announce that version 1.0.78 is now available to all customers. This update brings **over 130 additions, fixes, and improvements**. **Key Changes: ** - Delay system to make switches and buttons not instant - Yoke force simulation and LSAS pitch improvements (much better hand flying) - A slew of new alerts and display behavior - Various autoflight and MCDU behavior improvements - Retuned GE FADEC and autothrottle (no more slow spool and no more dropping into speed protection on approach) - Early descent mode not working properly - Huge improvements to step climb calculation and behavior (i.e. they actually work reliably now) - Improvements to ground navigation data (i.e. showing DME distance instead of ground distance, corrected TRUE vs MAG headings) - Refined APU startup/shutdown behavior - Fixed missing reverse thrust bindings - Fixed missing keyboard flight control bindings - Improved cockpit ambience sound - And much, much more - we highly recommend reading the full changelog **To Update:** Simply open the MD-11 Install Manager and it should show an update available. **Full Changelog:** https://docs.tfdidesign.com/en/md11/changelog#h-1078-10-july-2025 **What this update is not: ** The art update, the PWs, or FS24 support. All of those are coming soon, just not today. We really think you'll enjoy this update and as always, please let us know if you have any questions! Mikael Leinonen

July 10, 2025Jul 10 The addition of on-axis reversers is a nice improvement. If you use FSUIPC, you'll need to change the value of min_throttle_limit from -0.25 to -1.0 in the engines.cfg file or you'll only get partial reverse thrust. Just ran the installer and it immediately pops up a message: no simulators compatible with the TFDi Design MD-11 were found. I don't want to install 2020 again, just to get the MD-11 working in 2024.

Just ran the installer and it immediately pops up a message: no simulators compatible with the TFDi Design MD-11 were found. I don't want to install 2020 again, just to get the MD-11 working in 2024. I have 2024 from Steam so these are the steps involved: 1. Browse to C:\Users\<YourWindowsUserName>\AppData\Local\Packages\ 2. Create a folder with the name 'Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe' and within it, create another folder called 'LocalCache'. 3. Within Local Cache, create a txt file and add the following content to it: InstalledPackagesPath "C:\Users\<YourWindowsUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Packages" Note(1): The text file should be named 'UserCfg.opt', not 'UserCfg.opt.txt'. 4. Run the TFDi installer. It will detect MSFS and will install the product in your 2024 Community folder. Once it's done, you can now delete the entire 'Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe' folder and any future updates will automatically detect your installation without the need to repeat these steps. 5. Update the navdata from Navigraph. Once done, grab MSFSLayoutGenerator (LINK) executable. Copy it over to your TFDi installation directory, and drag & drop the layout.json over the MSFSLayoutGenerator executable and you're ready to fly. You'll see a blank terminal window pop up for a second or two which is normal. Once it closes, your layout.json should have its date/time stamp change to whenever you do this step which means it was done successfully. Note(2): I don't know if the new version fixes it, but after every navdata update, you need to re-do step 5, or else you may find incomplete SIDs/STARs in your FMC. Edited July 12, 2025Jul 12 by Bob Scott //admin edit: corrected typo in folder name
July 11, 2025Jul 11 You don't need to create any folders, the installer will create them for you. Just copy whatever the updater drops in the old MSFS folders (it will recreate all the required folders) into your new MSFS2024 community, delete the remaining MSFS stuff left behind and you're good to go.
