I disagree. Hoppie is basically legacy software, having to get a new API key is slightly annoying if you stop using it. From the controller side, I’ve never seen too much utility in it as it’s “yet another application” and as a result, we’ve seen pitiful adoption in the US. I’d much prefer a newer system that’s built around your VATSIM ID with cooperation from ATC stakeholders (something that has been rumored for years). At least with something purpose-built we might see automatic tagging of datalink capable aircraft, better integration into some of the controlling clients, etc., just overall better multi system integration than we get today.

Milviz did that for nearly a decade with the ATR, every few months a few Blender renders and a "status update" that said nothing, and then cried foul when MS/Hans decided they wanted to do an ATR. Many people decried that and said we had been robbed of a good, high fidelity ATR. Real ball knowers already figured out that we were never getting that ATR. History sure rhymes, doesn't it.

Definitely into the Stratoliner. Very happy to hear they've rebuilt the 707, but with everything that comes in the sim by default, I remain hopeful, but not optimistic.

ChatGPT is too much of a generalist model. You'd want to find something that's specifically trained to spit out 3D models based on prompts - similar to how the dedicated video AI models will always do better with video than something like ChatGPT or Grok.

There's definitely a systems bug here but also a bunch of operator error so I would take it with a grain (perhaps half a cup) of salt.

Wrong model. A bit over a year ago, I tried to get Grok and ChatGPT to generate airline schedules and they did terribly. Claude Cowork - no issues. Does it cleanly without duplication and will build you a widget. I've used it to build a similar form and smart pricing tool at work and it has done admirably (though the codebase is a mess and I've had to rewrite a lot of it to introduce a "price book" instead of a bunch of arcane rules that need updating every time)

TAS? Or IAS? How fast are you expecting it to go? It's not a Q400, you should be seeing TAS around 240 at altitude.

The Citation X has an auto-tune function - unless you put a frequency in the box, it's going to auto-tune whatever it thinks is appropriate to (I think) do position updating. Not a bug - operator error.

Passenger announcements - scripts for branding? How is the voice synthesis handled? Would be neat if we could have a company defined, custom announcement flow, etc., but obviously those are reach goals to me. Maybe a couple options for when to trigger certain announcements, save them to an airline profile. Could also potentially provide custom scripts for the announcements. I was a flight attendant, I've always been thinking about how to get just the right crew mod lol This sounds very interesting - I'll pick up a license in a few weeks when I can get back to simming. Congrats on the release!

Not really basing this on anything but it might be mostly a Sierra Division project, publishing under FlyTampa with some sort of sharing of the labor. SD looks like a pretty competent modeler.

Sure makes me suspicious when they say the project "reimagined" the idea of a console, and will play both XBox and PC games. I basically have that today, it's called Steam Remote Play lol

FSS seems to have a real issue with WASM crashes across products - I haven't really been able to complete a flight in the 727 either, consistently WASM will crash sometimes before takeoff. Shame to hear it's happening so much with the EJets too, have been steadily reporting these as I encounter them but they don't seem to have or be pursuing a fix...

Certainly not ready for deployment today - but a great step in the right direction! Anything that gets these products off the (very expensive) commercial compute roller coaster will be good for customers and enable more features. The biggest issue with SI right now, imo, is that it's got a lot of partially baked features that are interesting, but use a ton of compute. At least this would be a step in the right direction.

VPNs are sometimes to blame for this - a couple times a day I'll encounter a link or something that just doesn't work or throws Forbidden and it works fine once I log out of the VPN. Probably Cloudflare etc. IP blacklisting the VPN server

Here's the problem - if enough of you will this into existence, and it will come true. What have they done since release? - Steady improvements to the aircraft - Sounds like the -300/400 are coming along nicely - They bent to all of the ridiculously loud whining about not understanding the pricing model - EFB enhancements, new flight model for the winglets 737-5, sound rework coming So, frankly, what are you expecting? If you just don't like them, you can say that, but saying they aren't "bother[ing] to improve their game" just isn't a fair assessment of the developer. I can't even say that about devs I would argue are more malicious actors in the space!

Granted the Imaginesim came out around the same time my last PC exploded, but I've tried flying in there a few times and get absolutely horrendous performance, I'm not expecting much better with ini but with Imaginesim we know we're not getting supported updates and if there's a memory leak it could go unaddressed for years. Will probably pick this one up, switching to 2024 finally anyways.

There were so many things kicking around in the Load Manager that had been implemented back in FS9 and P3D days that I'm sure there was a lot of fat to trim. Would imagine stuff like the W&B got moved into the sim, getting rid of that duplication, etc.

They're not gonna go back and fix it lol. They're checked out, site has been in maintenance mode with minimal content and paid product promotions all year.

That's rather disappointing, the 2020 version was a lot of fun. I spent a few months bouncing around in FSCharter around the Pacific Islands.
