It is not impossible to fly helicopters using joystick twist axis to control the torque, although not the most ideal. I think the Cabri should be a good start. For the payware, Taog Hangar's Alouette is also forgiving in terms of torque. Surprisingly, the default Airbus 125 is poles apart from the free HPG's 125. It should be more stable right since it is more "automated"?

1. WIHP (PONDOK CABE) Airport Crash. This exists in MSFS 2020 in exactly the same area. It is not generally known airport but the fact it also exists in MSFS 2024 is showing lack of mitigation. 2. Map EFB Crash. Clicking the minimize/maximize icon leads to CTD, and again, this once also occurred in MSFS 2020. 3. Having the cache fully downloaded (in the same exact airport), the sim is still loading some textures.

After my refund request went unanswered by Steam, I decided to cancel it and give the sim another shot. Honestly, it’s a lot better now. Even though I experienced a CTD during final approach, I still managed to get a solid 30-minute flight in with the 172. What really caught me off guard was the helicopter—it’s so much fun to fly! Surprisingly, it feels a bit easier compared to MSFS 2020 and XP11, but still enjoyable. I also turned off all the assistance settings, and even then, it still feels quite manageable. Not sure if it's realistic though... I’m also impressed with how good the sim looks, even on medium settings (with Buildings and Clouds bumped up to High). If my refund had gone through, I was planning to switch to X-Plane 12 for its well-known helicopter physics, but for now, I’m pretty happy sticking with this one.

There's a longer thread but the above link is the solution in a nutshell. Good luck. -
First Ever CTD in 2020

I had DXGI ctds this morning. The sim couldn't pass the loading screen. Last night was fine. Found the solution on Avsim. -
MSFS2024 seen by a grumpy old man
History replied to David Roch's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
I should have listened to this kind of suggestion. I gave up for now. I can take the learning curves like setting up controllers or such. But knowing many many users experiencing fps down to single digit on the ground is a deal breaker. Asked for a refund but Steam rejects it, saying I have more than 2 hrs playing. Well, it took me more than 3 hrs to set up the controller, let alone completing a proper session. -
FPS Drop when 3rd Person/Airport Ramp
History replied to History's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
EDIT: This issue has been discussed on MSFS Forum This sim is even more flawed (to say the least) than I initially thought. Uninstalled for now. -
MSFS2024_AutoFPS for MSFS 2024
History replied to flyblueskies's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
True. In case you wanna try the app, turn off the MSFS one. I still had issues with this as in the ground, the app might drop my fps to one digit. -
With medium settings and a few high graphic sliders, my medium end spec can easily achieve solid 30-40 fps at 500-7000 feet (haven't flown higher than that). I usually cap at 30 and X2 with LS for an artificial 60FPS. However on the ground, especially before entering aircraft, fps dropped to one digit. It is impossible to do pre flight to taxi. I just found out last night. Previously, I was always start from the runway. Has anyone experienced this?

MSFS 2020 Auto FPS App v0.4.2
History replied to Reset XPDR's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
Try again. Had that issue in my first attempt. It does successfully connect to the session but it behaves a bit "off". At ramp, the app increases LOD to 175, aiming 200.- 541 replies
