Parsing scripts from Panel files

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried to develop a parser to interpret the panel files to rebuild and or render cockpits outside FSX?

I assume you want more than just multiple monitors as explained here

What exactly are these "scripts" do you want interpreting?

I would like to have full control of what i render.

if you look for example in Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Gauges\Beech_Baron.cab, there are lots of XML files. Those XML files describe the gauges. Some of them contains scripts.

The XML files are parsed and interpreted by FS.

what output are you expecting from parsing and interpreting them yourself?

If you can't provide more detail how can you expect anyone to help?

I suspect they're wanting to allow you to use an iPad as a replacement screen with the gauges 'interpreted' and live-connected to the sim.

All that without actually programming a single gauge. But they'll make lots of money off of other's work in the process.
