Some years ago I had a link to changing the background color on the kneeboard display from white to any other color, does anyone recall how to do this? I have looked using various entries w/ no luck. I know it is simple to do, just can't recall how....

You could either save your ref and check text files as htm files with a particular colour of background, or...

 

... change your Windows colour settings. Right click on the desktop, choose Personalise et c.The one you need is 'Window' 'Colour 1':
