August 5, 200421 yr Simple question. Both my FS2002 and FS2004 aircrafts are much too sensitive in land maneuvering. How can I change the setting so that I'm not constantly snaking all over the runways. Thanks!
August 6, 200421 yr What are you using for rudder control (pedals, keyboard, twist-grip joystick, etc.)? Some airplanes or all airplanes? Just props or props and jets both? Is there a crosswind involved? How much crosswind? Do you have FSUIPC installed? R-
August 6, 200421 yr I am using twist-grip. This applies to all airplanes but to a greatest extent to props. No crosswind and I don't know what FSUIPC is!
August 6, 200421 yr Check your joystick sensitivity. Try reducing it to near minimum (at least that is where I fly). If you want less sensitivity, open up the fs9.cfg file and add the following line under the {controls} section:stick_sensitivity_mode=0Also, are you flying the default planes? They tend to be rather sensitive. Check the library for some great freeware planes which have much improved flight dynamics. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
August 6, 200421 yr Thanks for the reply Craig.I fly about 50% default planes. It is mostly the default planes which are sensitive are the runway. I will try turning down the stick. Thanks
August 6, 200421 yr An interesting experiment is to practice in the virtual cockpit view while looking at the cockpit controls. Most joysticks translate tiny moments into large control deflections which causes people to overcontrol. Try twisting the stick as you normally do and watch how the rudder redals react. If it looks like you're "stomping" on the pedals then try smaller movements or, as it was suggested above, reduce the sensitivity or range on the joystick.
August 7, 200421 yr Donn't forget that you can use differential braking ( left and right). I find that steering is easier using the brakes rather than the nosewheel( rudder) on the ground. The default keys are F11 and F12 respectively and you can program joystick buttons to do it if you are so inclined and have the buttons available.Best Regards,Ed GreenKCLThttp://www.panelshop.com/DEV.jpghttp://www.globecargo.org/images/VAA_Sen_captain.jpg
August 7, 200421 yr i had a similar problem use the left right on the joystick the twistgrip is to sinsitive :)As you can tell im forgot what those little flap thingos are ont he outbords of the wings .... need some sleep :)
