August 6, 200421 yr I am a raw beginner with this program. Is this the forum for basic questions. I mean like how to configure those buttons on a Logitech Joystick. Why I crash every time I try the basic Fly Now option? What is the best way to get started with FS 2004.Etc and probably ad nauseaum.Thank you.Louis EW
August 6, 200421 yr Ahhhhh.... fresh meat on the table! (just kiddin')Do what I did when I started. Take the lessons they offer in the program. You'll learn a ton and even hve fun I bet.
August 6, 200421 yr I agree- the lessons are an excellent starting point. Begin with the Cessnas. After a while, you may want to try the Lear jet, then the 737, etc. You can also pick up a lot by reading the forums here. Making use of the search function can save time instead of waiting for responses to your posts.Have fun!!!
August 6, 200421 yr You're right about 'fresh meat.' When I said raw beginner I meant it in the finest sense of the word. I appreciate and thank both of you for your help.Any comments on the Logitech 2.4 joystick.Louis Eagle Warrior(Hopefully my problem or challenge is not that Indians weren't meant to be pilots.):-)
August 6, 200421 yr Louis,Don't let these guys intimidate you... Fresh meat indeed! You are welcome to post your newbie questions here all you like. I would encourage you to use the forum's search function first however to find answers to your questions before you post. Some folks around here tend to get twitchy when they see the same question over and over again. Use the advanced search feature and your odds of finding a relevent forum entry within our database will be pretty good. And if anybody does give you a hard time, send me an email and I will whip them into shape! Welcome aboard!Oh, and rumour has it that Indians can and do fly! So, it ain't your genetics keeping you on the ground! :)
August 6, 200421 yr You are the second person to mention a search feature - where is it?I am not the least intimidated and assume whatever was said was done so in good nature. Actually, everyone has tried to be helpful.Anyway, I really need the help and can't afford to be thin-skinned.Wanishi.Louis Eagle Warrior

August 6, 200421 yr Author Louis,Welcome and I hope you become as addicted to FS like the rest of us :-)I am sure I have seen posts in the past about problems with a Logitech stick so heed Tom's advice and do a search for "Logitech".I suggest this forum and the hardware forum.I have also replied to your other post about joysticks and if you take that advice you don't need to worry about the Logitech problem ;-)Best of luck and enjoy your flying lessons.
