December 28, 201213 yr When assigning joystick buttons to 'FSX standard controls', how do I know what assignment does what? For example, I want a button to change view to say, next in view. I see commands such as: VIEW_CAMERA_SELECT_0 66860. How do I know which is which? December 28, 201213 yr Hi, Phil. What are you trying to do exactly? I can see LINDA offering clear names for the default commands. So they may not be as cryptic as your example of VIEW_CAMERA_SELECT_0 66860. See my example for e.g. toggling the strobes. For just switching the views, I would stick to the default FSX commands. So perhaps assign that button of yours in FSX and only pick more tricky ones with LINDA. Edited. I saw where that cryptic command of yours came from. Well, maybe you can assign it and then try out what it causes. Since those VIEW_CAMERA_SELECT commands go from _0 to _9, you'll soon have a small list of possible actions. My guess would be that they only allow to reach a fixed view. 'Next view' could therefore be a different command. Hence the note on using the default FSX menu for that. Hoping it helps.
December 28, 201213 yr Author Yeh, I was trying to stick exactly to the LINDA instructions and 'wipe' all FSX default functions. I've now just done as you sugest and used FSX to assign 'S' and 'Shift-S' instead;-) Much as LINDA looks truly brilliant, I'm not sure it's going to benefit me a great a deal, using the Saitek Pro panels. SPAD does that anyway. December 28, 201213 yr Just avoid the confusion I sometimes run into. With a soft my for joystick running, LINDA and the FSX options, I sometimes end up asking where that key has to be assigned now.
