December 28, 201213 yr I have had to restart my flight 4 times and lost almost 2 hours of work because of this. I have had the plane for almost a month and it has been working fine. I didn't change anything in my computer or installed/uninstalled hardware. These past 2-3 days, the engine sounds stop working in the middle of the flight for no reason. I can hear other sounds fine, control switches, clicks, packs, APU, flaps, F/O callouts, etc, just not engine sounds. Every time this happens I have to restart my flight. Other PMDG planes like MD-11, 747 Queen of the Skies work fine, it's just 737NGX. And no, I haven't tried uninstalling/reinstalling anything and I'd rather not as that is not a proper solution to this problem. I'm a very computer savy person (and also a hardcore programmer), so feel free to ask me to do any kind of debugging or modification necessary to get to the bottom of this. EDIT: After posting this, on my 2nd flight, the engine sounds stopped completely even after loading the plane cold and dark. It doesn't matter where I load the plane and what panel state I load, I can no longer hear any engine sounds. Another (maybe related or unrelated) problem is, when I load up the plane, I have to manually switch the sound source from my speaker to the headset, it doesn't respect whatever I have in Windows. Flight sim sounds work fine though, so its not like its the entire FSX that doesn't have the right sound source, but just PMDG. December 29, 201213 yr Have you tried pressing the q key twice? FSX has a bug that when you switch views, the sound gets messed up; it's only fixed by turning it off then on again. Alfredo Terrero
December 29, 201213 yr Author Actually this was the problem. Strangely enough, it doesn't happen in any other plane I have, including other PMDG planes, but the NGX. Mehmet Yatan
December 29, 201213 yr Yeah, I guess it's because the NGX has so many sound that it makes FS crazy. Alfredo Terrero
