August 7, 200421 yr Hello people,I have recently downloaded the POSKY A343 (lufthansa) and I own the PSS A330/340. I use the POSKY model and A/C cfg. file and the PSS panel, sound and latest FDE from Robert J. Scott (is for the PSS A/C, but I use it with POSKY A/C) all togheter. But I have some problems with the cockpit....I get wrong flap settings and my performance (V speeds, weight, etc.) is poor.Is there someone how know how the merge the PSS cfg.file and the POSKY cfg. file, so that my cockpit and everything is working on the PSS cfg. file but the model is working on the POSKY A/C??!!Thanks in advance,
August 7, 200421 yr I've had similar problems. I've solved it by using the Posky aircraft.cfg but copying over the PSS flap settings, general engine data, turbine data and using the PSS airfile. Now I get proper engine, flap and speed readings and the FMC works properly. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that the take off and descent seems slightly off with the PSS airfile. It was better with the Posky airfile. However, I put up with it for better overall performance from the FMC and engines. Maybe someone here on the forum will have some additional suggestions to "tweak" the merge even better.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
August 7, 200421 yr Great, did you do some tweaks? I'll check it out. By the way add the following to the views section of your non-vc version A340-300 panel.cfg for some great engine and wing views. They are ctrl+shift 1 or 3 or 7 or 9. I also assign them to the 4 buttons at the base of the joystick for quick access.VIEW_REAR_RIGHT_UP_WINDOWS=39 // RIGHT WING VIEWVIEW_REAR_RIGHT_UP_DIR=0.0, 0.0, 90VIEW_REAR_RIGHT_UP_EYE=0.0, 0.0, -31.00 VIEW_REAR_LEFT_UP_WINDOWS=40 // LEFT WING VIEWVIEW_REAR_LEFT_UP_DIR=0.0, 0.0, 270VIEW_REAR_LEFT_UP_EYE=0.0, 0.0, -31.00 VIEW_FORWARD_LEFT_UP_WINDOWS=41 // SEAT VIEWVIEW_FORWARD_LEFT_UP_DIR=9.0, 0.0, 217VIEW_FORWARD_LEFT_UP_EYE=-1.5, 0.0, -10.50VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_UP_WINDOWS=42 // SEAT VIEWVIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_UP_DIR=9.0, 0.0, 137VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_UP_EYE=2.00, 0.00, -10.50 Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
August 8, 200421 yr Author thank you very match!!!!I will rework the panel cfg. because I found a bug. ;)
August 8, 200421 yr I don't know about the PSS Airbus, but I would like to share my thoughts. Having ventured into flight tuning myself recently, being taught by some respected people in the FDE business, I would like to say that generally it's not a good idea to merge an air file and .cfg from one aircraft with another model. Yes the dimensions and such should, both being an A340 be the same but it's not always so and therefore you end up with some weird flight characteristics. What you really need is to alter both the aircraft.cfg and the airfile...it might explain some of the odd behaviour....just wanted to share my opinion.-Mikkel
August 8, 200421 yr Well, actually, we keep the Posky aircraft.cfg and only replace the general engine data, the turbine data and the flaps section. It works pretty well this way, with the exception that the FMC works better with the PSS airfile than the Posky airfile. All the dimensions and contact points and lights and so forth aren't touched.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
August 9, 200421 yr Author What if I tould you that I found the exact way of merging something and you can download it at avsim. I give a link very shortly and the download file includes: Latest Air.file from Rober J. Scott and I used the PSS cfg. file and just modefied it with POSKY cfg. files.I'll keep in touch.
August 9, 200421 yr Yes, I would like to try that. One of the things that is different between the Posky airfile and the PSS airfile is the fact that the PSS airfile gets you up to cruising altitude and speed quicker, whereas the Posky airfile used in the merge takes forever to climb to the higher altitudes and reach mach 82. However, it is starting to come together. I tried a flight last night with your modified aircraft.cfg and the PSS airfile. It worked quite well. The only difference was the take off roll was a lot longer (same fuel, same weight).Make sure you have the latest Posky FDE information they uploaded to Avsim recently as they corrected some contact point information and a few other details.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
August 9, 200421 yr Author Yeh but I use the PSS air file. And did you notice the the EICAS???It only give's two engine indicators and my APs are not working and thats something I try to debug.
