Fsx keeps crashing. Is it my computer?

Featured Replies

My fsx is laggy and it crashes a lot.

I don't know if my computer is not good enough for it.

My pc specs are:

Windows 7 64 bit home edition

Pentium dual core CPU E5300 2.60GHz

2GB RAM

service pack 1

NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT with 512,00 ram

I have a few addons on fsx:

Gsx (free version)

Service pack 1&2

Mega airports Schiphol

And a few added planes

What can I do to make fsx faster and not crash?

Not much you can do with a system like that. Only 2GB's of RAM and you would be wise to stay away from commercial addons such as the PMDG 737 or Orbx/FTX products. You are probably crashing because you are running out of memory even though you have the Windows 7 64 bit OS. You should be very careful moving scenery and traffic sliders to the right. The Hardware Forum here at AVSIM have several individuals who have asked the same question and there are experts down there who can provide further information. If you can afford to get two more gigs of RAM, that would help but you are going to continue to see more crashes if you increase FSX and Display Drivers settings.

Best regards,

Jim
