CH Yoke and Rudder Pedals

Featured Replies

If anyone is thinking about purchasing the CH yoke and rudder pedals, i would recommend them. My dad just purchased them for me for my 30th birthday. I found them extremely helpful in holding headings, altitudes, attitudes and flying approaches. Seeing that I all the real airplanes I fly have a yoke and not a joystick, it is almost next to the real thing without leaving my house. I have been instrument rated for about eight months. Now, it feels more realistic when i practice flying approaches down to the minimums.Damon

Damon,I couldn't agree more... Flying a Cessna 182 with a joystick is very unrealistic... I actually bought the CH Flight Yoke about two years ago, still have yet to purchase the flight pedals.HOWEVER, I wish I had that joystick back when I want to fly some of these tempting helicopters in the library, LOL. :-yellow1

Yes I think it is a more essential upgrade than anything else, vid card, cpu, ram, mesh, anything. Yoke made the biggest difference to my simming than any other add on.

The only way to fly.Within time, plan on having to open up the foot pedals and splice a wire or two though. "Sandman" has a dandy disassembling procedure on the flightsim site. For the price compared to other units costing ten times as much, this is something with which I can live.I also would highly recommend that you download the CMFS Version 1.00 utility by Bob Church. It enhances your mapping greatly and expands the button use on your yoke.I have a senior moment relative to the site, but Bob Church's email address is [email protected] and he has always been extremely helpful if you have any questions.Just found it. It is at stickworks.com (obviously huh). They have a newer version (1.10) which I will probably download myself, although I cannot imagine how they could have improved it much.Good luck and happy flying.RTH

Whats the purpose of splicing a wire or two?

Not to mention worn out pully's and streatching cables of a high wing Cessna type!Yes sir..................... with many low wing stick airplanes, it's a nice tight push/pull tube arrangement all the way to the ailerons & elevator, with no slop! :7 But getting back to sim land, I do use a right handed stick (Saitek X-45), but can fly real airplanes from left or right hand. I'd use a yoke once and a while if it was one of those heavy duty metal ones with real bearings, but I don't have one! Some of the real airplanes I've flown, such as the Pitt's, Marchetti SF260, gliders, RV's, and the new Diamond Star DA40 four place all have sticks..................... which is a great idea!!! :)L.Adamson
