FSX /WIN7 Ram settings

Hi guys,

Desperate need of some help.

Some sceneries and only some, I get a massive "leak" in performance. I am trying everything to solve the issue as it tends to not happen to others.

I have a high spec system.

Now, when I installed this current fresh install of windows, I remember changing a windows 7 setting on "ram allocation" [not 100% on its correct name] on a 32bit system. I am thinking this could be a something to check out.. I think it was through cfg or another process. Basically something to do with the ram limit before a crash.

It is difficult to describe, so I am hoping one of you helpful gents knows what I am on about through the nonsense, and can help me out.

Best wishes,

Alex

Hello Alex

If you are thinking about the /3GB Startup Switch in Windows, it won’t work on your x64 Windows Version.

What might work is the OOM “semi fix” on the heap limitation. See this post from Microsoft support

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947246 (Use the FixIt applet to make the changes)

Also, don’t forget the HIGHMEMFIX=1 under [Graphics] in the fsx.cfg file.

Cheers.

Ramón.
