Possible fix for "FSX not responding" message

Featured Replies

This is for those of you who have made changes to the FSX.CFG file. I used to get the "FSX not responding" message accompanied by an 8 or 9 minute freeze of the program. It happened randomly and without any apparent reason.

I read where deleting the .CFG file and allowing FSX to rebuild it on the next startup may help get rid of some of the side effects of changing the file. I tried it and so far, FSX is running well.

The only problem I'm having is disappearing aircraft texures when the scenery is transitioning from dusk to night with the PMDG 747. HIGHMEMFIX did nothing. It's annoying, but I can live with it.

I'm sure some you will say that changes to the .CFG file would not cause the problem I was having. Well, all I know is that restoring it worked for me.

Hope this helps some of you.

Well yeah resetting FSX.cfg might help in some cases, but of course also all advantage from previous tweaks disappears too so at least for me it's not a solution, I get those hangs very very rarely anyway, I guess UIautomationcore.dll fixed them for me.

Well, as I said, it fixed the problem for me. We all have different definitons of a solution.
