January 14, 201313 yr At my home airport of KIAH, there are two parallel runways for takeoff 15L/R and three parallel runways for landing 26 L/R and 27. I have the AFCAD set up to properly reflect this with 15 L/R setup for takeoff only and 26 L/R and 27 for landing only. THe problem is that for takeoff ATC will only ever assign runway 15 L which creates a huge traffic jam. I suspect it is because 15 R is farther away from all of the parking spots, but I would like to have ATC use both runways. For landing ATC only uses 26R and 27, and never lands planes on the center runway 26L.... My question is how can I fix this?
January 14, 201313 yr Sim limitations. Departures get the runway closest to their parking. Arrivals get assigned runways based on the direction they are coming from, assuming parallel runways have similar attributes such as length and approaches. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
January 15, 201313 yr Bummer... it would be a nice idea for a little payware utility that could take over the FSX ATC logic and run airports the way they're supposed to be!
