Hello Everyone, I sent a support Ticket some time ago on this subject and the reply related to a bug in FSX (which I am not disputing) but I wondered if in the meantime someone had the same problem and managed to overcome this. I find on landing the 737 that the tyre friction smoke is alread on the runway and coming up to meet the tyres and on occasions there is a smoke trail from the tyres during the runway takeoff, I have the brakes off. I would be grateful for any info on this matter. Thanks. Richard Welsh.

Try changing season to summer or clear the weather and see if the effect persists.

Just keep an backup.. Add .bac or .old as file extensions on current effect files
