Canadair CT-114 Tutor - Convert from FS9 to FSX - Canopy Issue

Featured Replies

Hi, today I got inspired to have the CT-114 Canadian Snowbirds acrobatic team as one of my flying options.

I have this plane in my FS9. I did the install of the freeware version that is available and also installed the update and HD texture package that is available. I ensured that the gauge folder was correctly placed, the sound.cfg was aliased to a working sound folder, put the two sets of planes in Simobjects - Aircraft folder.

I can load up the plane from the menu under Canadair.

There are several issues that need to be sorted out.

1. when switching to VC view its possible to see out the canopy window but after a second or two it goes black.

2. the outside view of the canopy is not quite displaying correctly, I believe I have seen some discussion on this issue but have not yet checked out what info might be out there.

3. there are a couple of textured areas - ie nose tip, inside VCpanel that are not displaying correctly.

My questions area - does anyone know what causes the canopy to be black when viewing inside to outside. Is this problem with this also related to the outside view of the canopy which doesnt show properly.

I think I might be able to fix the texture issues.

Did you by any chance try the FSX upgrade version by everyone's favourite (just kidding ) developer - Nor-Cal Prop Club? I don't know if that version fixed any of the problems you are experiencing.
