January 16, 201313 yr I posted this up in FSX forum and it got me thinking it might be worth putting it here to the experts to see if it can be done in a future update. 'Software that would enable greater cloud drawing distance once above a certain specified altitude. Smaller drawing distance on ground & low altitude as frames are needed and not as much cloud cover required then once above ,say 15000 feet ( users choice) clouds build further out as frames are better higher up thus giving us clouds as far as the eye can see.' Reverting back to smaller draw distance on descent of course. Can it be done? Kind Regards Simon.
January 16, 201313 yr Commercial Member Hi Simon Nice idea but unfortunately we can find no functions to set the cloud draw distance dynamically within FSX. Regards Cheryl

Its a thought thats occupied my mind a while now. What with clouds being a FPS killer especially when they build up, even non HD. Thanks for looking at this Cheryl Kind Regards Simon.
