January 18, 201313 yr I've been promising myself to buy a new monitor for many times now, and everytime something came in between. Last time my drivers license, no money. But today my parents told me they will pay it for me, yay! :Big Grin: So... now I've got good money available for a new monitor! Previously it was gonna be an Asus 27 inch 1080p. But now I'm thinking about getting a 1440p/1600p monitor but I'm not sure whether it's going to be worth it, so I got a few questions for you. 1. Does 1440p cause any (significant) FPS drop over 1080p with a high-end NVIDIA card? 2. If it does, is it possible to run Windows 7 in 1440p and run FSX at 1080p? Or is that gonna look completely blurred and out of shape? I hope you can help me soon... cuz I don't wanna buy such an expensive monitor just to find out I will get only 2/3 of the FPS. Thanks! Arjen Vandervelde
January 18, 201313 yr I run 3840 x 1024 across 3 monitors, one view. Is there a performance hit, sure a little bit, but with my GTX670 4gb it's minimal at best. Still run full 30fps in FSX DX10 mode with almost all sliders full right, OpusFSX for weather, Gex, Fex ,Ut2, some addon airports / aircraft. I have been seriously looking at these monitors (link below), there out of Korea. From all the reviews I've read they have a very positive rating. There a "B" grade monitor, meaning they didn't meet someones "A" specs, either due to some dead / stuck pixels or some light edge bleeding. Most guys are getting them and there's nothing wrong with them, no dead or stuck pixels at all. As you can see their 30" 2560x1600, should look real nice with your sim of choice, oh, and there half the price of other 30" monitors out there. I would seriously have a look at them if your going that size, just my thoughts. P.S. There are a lot of vendors on ebay that sell them, I only listed one for reference. http://www.ebay.ca/i...241656350701914 Glen Gigabyte z590 UD - i5 11600k 4.9 GHz - 64gb 3600 MHz ram - RTX 3070 ti - multiple ssd - 34" 3440x1440 100 Hz Curved - Saitek Yoke Pedals Throttle Quadrant x2 - TM T16000m x2 Throttle - Win 11 Pro
