January 20, 201313 yr I have tried a dozen times to do this, following the tutorial in AVSIM and no luck. How many of you have managed to do this? Any suggestions.
January 20, 201313 yr The secret is in the FSWidgetsGMap.ini Here is my example: [Registration] [email protected] gmapkey=xxxxxxxxx [Plans] plansfolder=C:\Users\xxx\Desktop\Flightplan And the flightplans are inside the folder Flightplan on my Desktop. To load the Flightplans yu have to disconnect GMap.
January 22, 201313 yr Your path is incomplete. Add "plansfolder" . sent from galaxy ace 2 via tapatalk
January 22, 201313 yr progress  ..now I have to figure out why it won't read the flightplans.. Are you loading a .pln file,? How far are you getting? yeah... the flightplans I have are pln.
January 22, 201313 yr I tried to download this http://forum.avsim.n...e-them-in-gmap/ and build a flightplan ..but that might as well be written in Chinese for all I'm concerned as I can't get any info to load on the map to even start drawing one.. I have some flightplans that were posted on STEAM this past summer from the Fly Alaska show but they won't load onto GMap now that I have the folder set up. Has anyone figured out how to load a Flightplan from Skyvecctor on GMap?
January 22, 201313 yr I started creating my flight plans in FSX which creates the ".pln" files. I also use FSWidgets QuickPlan. Unfortunalely SkyVector plans can not be saved to be used in Flight, which is too bad. I really like using SkyVector.
January 22, 201313 yr I guess that leaves me at a dead end. Three months to get to this point ...lol now I can't even use it. can you use FSWidgets QuickPlan for Flight?
January 28, 201313 yr I'd been meaning to look into this since the tutorial was posted last summer, but never got around to it. This thread prompted me to try it. So I downloaded Plan-G v3 this evening. I created the database file (I have FS2004). I found it to be pretty easy to create a simple flight plan - right-click on the departure airport, select "Start flight plan at airport xxx," then right-click on a destination airport and select "Add airport xxx to plan." Adding waypoints works the same way - similar to SkyVector's interface. But I ran into trouble saving the plan. Jeroen's tutorial says to save your plan as a .pln file, not a .plg file, which is the default. He makes it sound like you have a choice, but with the version I'm using, .plg is the only choice. (From his screenshots, I think maybe his writeup is based on an earlier version.) I tried altering the extension to .pln and saving, but it still saved it as a .plg. I renamed it in Windows Explorer to .pln, and it showed up in the list in GMAP, but nothing happened when I tried to load it. So I went back to Plan-G and found on the File tab there are Export options for FSX, FS2004, and X-Plane. I created a new plan, and instead of saving it, I exported it using the FS2004 option. This saved the file as a .pln file, and when I loaded it into GMAP, the flight plan showed up on the map. I hope this helps someone. - Peter C http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bob_and_Ray_Show
