  1. After successfully publishing a few new ones, I have some New Aerocache lessons learned: IACO code: The Aerocache Editor "Nearest Airport" needs an IACO airport. EG. K3W7. The MS Flight airport code for Grand Coulee Dam airport is "3W7". The program will accept the 4 character code and build the Aerocache, but it will not function properly. Only use the 4 letter IACO code airports. Altitude: If you check the AGL box you should get Above Ground Level in meters. It appears to be using the altitude in feet or something even smaller. I found these out by trial and error, and so I had to build more than one until I got it to work. Steve, I will send you a list of the broken ones to delete. Thanks for enabling this functionality.
  2. @stonelance I agree, that could get messy. Please delete "Canyon Run!". I have more I would like to submit. Thanks, Tom
  3. @majuh A bit rusty at making these. I also set the distance too close for the notification symbol. Is there a way to go back in and edit?
  4. Success! Able to add new aerocache. Thanks Steve, Also Majuh, I found your new one. Niagra Falls.
  5. @majuh I believe my Addon Manager problem is related to uploading the preview pics. I created a link on Onedrive, and even on my local drive but with the same result. "File does not exist". Did you get one to load OK? Where is it?
  6. Should Addon Manager 1.15 still work for adding new aerocaches? I have tried to add a new one several times, and it will not go. I get the "File does not exist" error, and when I clear it, it says "addon manager has stopped working". I restart addon manager and repeat the process, same result.
  7. This topic has been discussed in length on this forum, and I have posted my thoughts on the DTG forum already. My expectations were for more. I'm sure many of you plunked down the $15 bucks to have a look as well. All I saw was an FSX continued, but not improved a bit. For me, MS Flight is still a stratosphere higher.
  8. My expectations were probably out of line. Hoping for more. My first flight, out of the box, was a graphical mess. When they delayed it from an April to a May release, I knew they had problems. Not pleased. I'm going back to the beautiful game, MS Flight.
  9. Sure sounds like you have another winner in the works! Looking forward to seeing it! Keep up the good work Paul.
  10. Glad to hear that work continues on the toolkit! I will be checking in to see when it becomes available.
  11. It really is feeling like "the end", at least for this forum. I still fly Flight quite often, and enjoy landing at new airports, exploring and finding surprising content. I am thankful to all the developers who continued to make improvements long after MS dumped it. From what I can see, it seems as if development activity has dwindled and maybe even stopped. Perhaps this is in anticipation of the Dovetail project. Thanks again guys! Keep flying. -Tom
  12. I wonder if there is a beta version floating around out there somewhere?
  13. Ran into the same "FSX World being used by another process" issue. After disabling it again, the conversion ran great on the 2nd attempt. Up and running on 1.1.15 !! Thanks Steve for all the hard work.
  14. Thanks Steve. BTW: I have more "pending" aerocaches I would like to add, but the last few times I was in the editor, it would not accept them. I believe it would not connect to the database.
  15. I agree. Especially the Solid State Disk which made a big difference.
  16. The BoundaryFixes did fix a few of the "funny" airports and missing airports. It was a good compromise but there are still half a dozen that do not add to the unique airport count when you land there.\
  17. @majuh and My toolkit installs always do complete and give me a flyable World. However, I do get hundreds of errors and warnings. Towards the end I always get the message "If this addon, is disabled, other associated addons will be disabled also. Continue?" This is immediately followed by "Failed to completely uninstall addon. Some files may have been uninstalled properly. The process cannot access the file "FSXWorldAutogen0.pak" because it is being used by another process." The only process running is the conversion. I do a reboot before starting the conversion.
  18. Loaded 1.1.12. Seemed to load OK, but no taxiway markers for me.
  19. When the buildings do show up, they appear to be "special" buildings that are not part of the general class of hangars etc.
  20. It's more fun flying low (by the rules) and finding creative ways to avoid the FBI plane. However, if you keep it high, around 15K they never see you. Some pilots, early on, racked up some huge XP with this trick.
  21. I also want to thank you guys for all your efforts to improve the Flight experience for our community. I am anxious to load up this new version and give it a fly!
  22. Successfully uninstalled and reinstalled 1.1.9. Beta. I believe I am seeing more foliage in the World, but were the runway markers supposed to show up now? I have not seen them yet.
  23. It sounds like the problem where some of the original 350 were not showing up, has been fixed now? If there are no more "aerocache" related issues (other than time and resources) I would be glad to push out some more. I have some new ones from the World I could publish. Thanks.
