January 21, 201313 yr Hey guys, I got a problem with the paintkit from the JS41. As there is no...Master_T_SPEC.psd file inlcuded I am struggeling with the night texture for the wings. All things I have tried: converting a non colored ...MASTER_T_SPEC.dds into .psd and flipped my painting in 1024x1024 over it - reduced to one level and converted it back (dds converter 2 - DXT5 with alpha channel) into a .psd file. Maybe someone has an idea? I would really appreciate that. Thanks in andvance, Sascha All things I have tried. That a the results:
January 21, 201313 yr I don't understand why you need to mess with the night texture for the wings; can you not use the ones PMDG use in all their own repaints? You generally don't need to touch any "_l" or "_Spec" files when repainting an aircraft model for FSX. In fact, I didn't even include them with my J41 repaints, I just let them alias to PMDG defaults using the texture.cfg PMDG supplied. Make sure the folder your repaint textures are in has a texture.cfg file in it that contains the following: [fltsim] fallback.1=..\texture fallback.2=..\texture.VC fallback.3=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture fallback.4=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture If it helps you can download my repaint from the Avsim file library (filename js41_baenew_pmdg.zip) to help you structure you own repaint, just overwrite the textures and edit the readme. ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
January 21, 201313 yr Author Hey, thanks for your reply. I really appreciate this. I have loaded your files and have a question to these both files as they are not custom. Especially the _T_SPEC.dds. How have you created this one?
January 21, 201313 yr Good question, I painted that a long time ago so I've forgotten! I will check later when I have access to the files. But I don't think the top image you posted is custom, it looks like the Eastern Airways repaint PMDG did. ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
January 22, 201313 yr PMDG Paint Kit Readme: Now creating your spec map for this texture is simple. Resize your newly pasted PMDG_J41_Fuselage_T_Clean (or Dirty) map to 1024 x 1024 then fill this with black with Blendingsettings of Mode - Multiply and opacity set to 76%. For some reason I did this for the fuse spec but forgot to do the master spec :-S Basically, do these steps: Open your final FSX daytime texture. Select all and then copy. Open up the matching Spec texture (use the existing .dds spec from the J41) and paste in to it. Shrink it to fit and line it up over the existing paint. Create a layer above your the layer you just pasted. Fill it completely black. Set the blend mode on the black layer to Multiply, then set the opacity to 76%. Save your changes an you're done! ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
