August 16, 200421 yr Hi, Question:I am Using my rudders again... Very dificult as not only the single engine, but the jets have a huge left yaw tendency that disappears as I unable the rudder. This is with default sensitivity settings. In the ground is almost imposible to taxi, the left yaw is also present and trying to correct results in my airplane turning in S while taxing and during take off roll out.If I decrease the sensitivity or increase the null zones in the rudder, the BRAKE messages appears all the time. With the realair SF260 I can see that the airplane has its front wheel slightly turned to the left, if I use the numpad 5 without the numpad function, the tire goes back to the center and then bounces back to its rotated position. Is there any utility/settings available to calibrate this rudder pedals? Thanks.
August 16, 200421 yr Hi Gabriel,You may download the CH Control Manager 3.0 from CH Products site (http://www.chproducts.com/retail/tech_controlmanager.html). I use this software for calibrating and setting dead zones on the CH Yoke and Pedals. Only for the USB version. Give it a try.Ulf Bjarke :-)
August 16, 200421 yr Hi, GabrielI am not sure what your complete setup is, but you can test your rudder in the Calibration mode, just turn on (check) the Raw counts, you should be around 125 on each side.Your problem sounds like a double controller assigned to the rudder axis. Look at your other controller and see if the Rudder is assigned to your twist or some other axis. TV
August 16, 200421 yr Hello GabrielI had exactly the same problem as you. I tried all of the calibration options - default, FSUIPC and the latest CH Control Manager. Nothing worked - I still had the pull to the left. In sheer frustration, I took the pedals apart. The pot connectors are of the spade variety, and I found that the left pedal connection was very, very loose. Having tightened up each of the connectors I have had no further problem. Mind you, I did have a bit of a problem putting the pedals back together again, but that's another story. Bud
August 16, 200421 yr Thankyou very much guys, I am going to try both options, tonight at home.I'll report back, so other users can see the solution to my problem. Thanks again.
August 16, 200421 yr Are they USB pedals? I'm not sure if my problem is the same as yours, but I have an issue where my pedals work fine, then all of a sudden, the airplane will just completely go left. If I go to the external view, the rudder on the plane is full left, no matter where I move the pedals to. The way I fix it, is to just unplug and reconnect the pedals. Then they go back to normal. Check out my thread in the hardware forum (although there wasn't a solution posted, but some other people had similar issues). http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=2496&page=2 ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
August 16, 200421 yr Yes guys, my Rudder Pedals are USB.If you look on Spot plane view, seing the front of the AC you can see that the Front wheel and the rudder points a little to the left.If you use numpad 5 without the numpad option (center controls)the wheel and the rudder go to the center, and inmediately goes back to its deviated position.
August 16, 200421 yr GabrielTry unpluging them for a few seconds and plug them in again, as suggested above. This is only a temporary fix and you'll have to do it again from time to time. I have my pedals and other controllers plugged into a USB hub within easy reach, which seems to be the best solution. CH has known about the problem for a long time but can't seem to fix it. Adding a PCI USB card solves things on some systems but not all.David
August 17, 200421 yr First I want to thank the people that made recommendations on this thread, without those oppinions I would not be enjoying this great program so much. This is what I did:Fire Up FSCheck the Rudders, they had the left deviation present.Unplug - Plug themDownload the CH manager: The utility installed the manager itself and several hardware drivers as wellCalibrate the Rudders: The rudder axis (Z) had a drift tendency to the left and the left toe brake was out of calibration as well.Decrease the sensitivity on the Rudder Axis to 75 And Null zones to 20 or so.Decrease the Sensitivity on the Toebrakes, to 80 with a null zone of 20 also.I fired up FS again: The front wheel in my test AC (SF260) was centered!Ground handling was GREAT! This is the first time, since FS2002, that I can handle a plane on the ground and follow the centerline on a taxiway.I took her on a couple of circuits and some spins; the left yaw tendency is gone, I know I have to fine tune the sensitivity and the null zones a little more, but so far so good. Tonight I will be firing up FS again, and seeing if my results are consistent to yesterday observations. Thanks again guys.
April 10, 200521 yr Hello all,I also have had similar problems with the pedals. Start a flight, everything fine. Then somewhere along the way, rudder hard left. Well recently I purchased the Throttle Quadrant, which I also have an issue with, the # 4 throttle lever does not activate the # 4 throttle leveron any of my big aircraft, prop or jet. Have a query into CH PRoducts on this one. What I did find out though, is when I took Quadrant off the system, and deleted all references to CH devices, then hooked up the pedals, and yoke again, ran the ch manager and re-calibrated the pedals, and yoke, the pedals have been working fine. I now have three flights since the re-work, all over 9 hrs realtime duration, and the pedals have been working fine.Just thought I would drop a note.
