catalyst latest version - any benefits for 5770 and fsx?

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I was wondering if anyone had upgraded to the latest catalyst who are also using the radeon 5770?

I use this card myself and catalyst 12.2 with no real issues. The latest catalyst appears to only offer benefits for the 7xxx series,at least on paper.Any thoughts? Cheers, Steve

Cloud FPS penalty went away on my hd7750, and pre catalyst 12.11 lost some fps. think it only applies to 7xxx series. Using 13.2 catalyst now works well so far

Thanks for the reply gizmosellsbunnys. I did make a typo earlier - It was meant to say that I currently use catalyst 12.10. Anyway, think I will give 13.1 a shot and see how it performs.

Following some testing ,I don't think fps has changed, although the colours do seem more vibrant. This is subjective I know. Would be interested to hear other peoples experiences and catalyst settings. Cheers, Steve

Interesting... I'm using an HD7970 with FS9 and a dual screen eyefinity setup and have had quite bad 2d panel gauge flicker with all newer drivers since 12.11.beta6 so I'll have to have a look at this new one... I would say that the 12.11 ones were better fps than the 12.8 but not smoother (perhaps the opposite)...
