Improving Performance with Scenery.cfg
The best way to use it and which also speeds up fsx loading time, is to simply simply disable the areas you are not using. If you only fly in Europe for example, then temporarily disable other add-ons I the US for instance. It works really well. Cheers

FSX to Xplane 10 Convert
Well, actually I run 10.25 with the HD mesh using HD5770 (1Gb) and get around 30fps on average. That's with terrain on high but HDR turned off. BTW th's with the latest catalyst/driver release (13.9 I believe).

Is it worth $90?
Some fair points there Ray. I myself have'nt bought it since I generally fly 2-3 hour routes. I suspect part of the reason for the seemingly high purchase price maybe to do with piracy. I'm sure that within a short time, this, like loads of other flightsim addons, will be pirated and hence PMDG have to factor this into their marketing.Just a thought.

Антонов Ан-2 with a cuckoo clock on the panel!
Komrad Ron, I just love these proper old lumps. Reminds me of the days when men were men and Russia was CCCP. Keep up the good work - if not,you will be sent to work in a tractor factory in Siberia...

Thinking of buying the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke with Three-Lever Throttle (PZ44
Saitek support is first rate. My throttle quadrant developed a fault - they then replaced yoke and quadrant with a week. Can't argue with that.

New rig for FSX and XP10(64-bit) - advice please
Hi folks, Just one question really; I intend putting together a new rig for FSX and XP10. Money is no object to the build and I have no real preferences to brands etc. That said, I have always used (and liked) ATI cards and gigabyte boards. I live in the UK. All suggestions on components / cooling and anything else are most welcome. Cheers

ATI Catalyst Control Centre 13.1?
upquark replied to RCITGuy's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcWorked fine for me. No real differences/improvements however, I would say that the colours seem more vibrant. I realise that is of course, subjective.

catalyst latest version - any benefits for 5770 and fsx?
upquark replied to upquark's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcFollowing some testing ,I don't think fps has changed, although the colours do seem more vibrant. This is subjective I know. Would be interested to hear other peoples experiences and catalyst settings. Cheers, Steve

catalyst latest version - any benefits for 5770 and fsx?
upquark replied to upquark's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcThanks for the reply gizmosellsbunnys. I did make a typo earlier - It was meant to say that I currently use catalyst 12.10. Anyway, think I will give 13.1 a shot and see how it performs. cheers

catalyst latest version - any benefits for 5770 and fsx?
Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone had upgraded to the latest catalyst who are also using the radeon 5770? I use this card myself and catalyst 12.2 with no real issues. The latest catalyst appears to only offer benefits for the 7xxx series,at least on paper.Any thoughts? Cheers, Steve

serious help with FSX
upquark replied to craigovlh's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHi, I suspect the updated drivers are the problem. Happened to me recently going from Catalyst control centre 12.8 to 12.11 - caused no end of problems, including blurry textures. What card do you have? cheers steve

very poor frame rates - some advice please
Hi Stephen, Just purchased your great new product and have to say very impressed with the weather depiction. Well done! Therein lies the problem however.... All installed as per manual etc and using FEX 1024 clouds. At Heathrow earlier I was getting frames in single figures - I guess due to the amount of cloud cover etc. The question is - is there a way to greatly improve the frame rates without detracting from the full "glory" of you program? Any/all advice gratefully received All the best Steve

Any News on the Beechcraft B55 SP?
I did think about adding the 430, but only really use the 530 for navigation. For the popup, I assigned a spare button on my saitek set through FSUIPC. Steve
